Teti receiving Instructions

You know what? I used to laugh a bit when I read stories about the
Mothership and so on. I don't laugh anymore...

Last night I was going to bed, and as usual Teti and Tin?viel followed me to
get a good night's sleep. The procedure is the same every night, Teti comes
up to my face for some kissing and headbutts before he returns to his
favorite position between my legs. Tin?viel will wait until Teti has settled
down before she comes into the bed, laying down between my feet, after she
has given them a good kneading massage (it's so good that I often fall
asleep when she does it...).

Yesterday it was different, Teti came up to my face, giving me the good
night hug, but suddenly... He didn't go back to his sleeping place between
my legs, he just sat there, is hind legs on my chest, his fore legs on my
upper arm. I was starting to wonder what the little fellow was up to, so I
opened my eyes. What did I see?

Teti was sitting there, totally motionless, his head was raised, and he was
staring intensely at the wall behind the bed.

He was sitting like this for about three minutes, the only thing moving were
his eyes which changed focus two or three times. It was as if he was
watching a PowerPoint presentation on the wall, but I couldn't see anything.

I'm sure he received som kind of instructions from the Mothership, I haven't
got the slightest idea on what it was about, but it must have been
important... Fortunately, the instructions don't seem to have anything to do
with me, because after this session, he went down to sleep as usual, and he
has been acting just as ususal afterwards.

Can anyone tell me what's going on? Is my cat really an alien being here to
protect me, or what...?

Just when we think we're beginning to figure them out...!

It isn't my cats reading my mind that makes me uneasy.  Its their ability to
make me read theirs.

ps-> OMG! I went looking for the above link, so I clicked on the archive
link on the Two Lumps web page. Then I hesitated whether to start from
the beginning and look for this particular cartoon, I decided to just
click on one link and start looking for it. It was the very first one I
clicked on!!! Maybe the Mothership is able to guide us hoomins too!

Very, very strange, Victor...

I open the link and all I get is the heading, the menu on the left side, and
a big, blank field on the right. I tried to open some others from the
calendar on the left, but the are all blank. Is it something strange with
these pictures. Do I need a special plug-in to display them, or what?

I don't think so, they're plain jpg files. I'll email you the one I posted.

He may have been just playing that old cat game, "Make the human look
at the place I'm staring."  Mine are quite good at it and can usually
get one of us to look at the part of the ceiling or wall that has
supposedly attracted their attention.

That doesn't explain why his eye focus changed several times.  What was he
seeing?

A small insect? Maybe a light reflecting off sometime - perhaps something
from outside, and moving with the wind? Greeblings?

Besides the staring at a wall thing, mine stare out the window. This is
normal, but several times, very late at night when even my street is
quiet, I've seen them stare out the bedroom window with fascination.
Their attitude is the same as when they've spotted a rival animal, but
it's too far away for them to hisspit and fluff up all their fur. I look
out, and even with the streetlights, I can't see a thing. Even the tree
branches aren't moving in the wind. I could swear there wasn't a living or
moving thing in the street. But the cats are fascinated by *something*.

I'm sleeping better these days, and rarely wake up so late at night, so if
it's still happening, I don't know about it.

Tonight, they're napping (of course!), although Mandy is making periodic
efforts to move from her present cushion to the nearby window ledge, only
to discover to her astonishment that the space, behind the curtain, is
already occupied by Betsy, who hisses at her. As much as I love my cats, I
have to wonder about one who can't detect another cat behind a curtain
until she gets hissed at. Several times is a row.

Stinky will sometimes stare *at* the window, sitting quite a ways away
from it, just staring into the sunlight.  My mom calls it his
"Bernadette of Lourdes Pose. "  :P

The url for the RPCA "catfaq" is:

http://www.angelfire.com/mt/yowie/catfaq.htm

I apologise for the pop-ups that come with Angelfire, but I access the 'net
from all over the place, which means I need free web hosting.
