Quickie on Frank

I got Frank close to me using the laser dot and was able to get a full on
petting of him.  I stroked his back and ticked his head and ears and for
the first time heard the most amazing sound I have heard around here for
some time, purring!

Lyle who hurried Frank away from me the last time I made contact only
checked on Frank with a bit of nose to nose contact but this time did not
cause as much trouble.  I got a few more moments in later as I gave Frank a
tidbit of beef jerky and he layed next to my chair and ate it as I stroked
his back.  Frank seems to trust me most when I am in the chair in front of
the computer; they know it is creaky and noisey and I can't get up quickly
or quietly.

I will dedicate the purrs I got to Georgie and hope they help get her home.

Congratulations on a big breakthrough!  How wonderful that he purred for
you.

Yeah, some day they may like me without the laser dot or the jerky!

:)

Well, most of the time I think that Otis and I have some strong psychic
bond.  Then every once and a while, it occurs to me that he's thin
haired cat living in a cold climate and I throw off a lot of body heat
... and I'm not quite so sure anymore ;-)

Oh, I don't kid myself; the body heat thing goes a long way with our cats!

Remember the old Nissan commercial "Dogs love truckss?"  Well cats
love jerky.  At least our cats love Jerky.

I was up with some friends at a lake cabin one of them owns and I brought
a package of jerky for me and one for the dogs.  When I said no dog or
cat can resist jerky he said not my dog.  I barely contained my laughter
and about 10 seconds after I broke the seal his very well trained lab was
up ON THE TABLE begging for jerky!  I said "were you saying something?"

I assume it's pretty bad for them with whatever is in it otherwise I
would give them more but I give them a tiny little tidbit once in a
while.  My neice would buy Zak a package for christmas and it would last
weeks.

Andy who also loves jerky

The purrs worked :-) Thank you. I still haven't heard Shadow purr but I'm
sure I will this year.

Like I said in the other thread I was really thinking about this.  Maybe
being in the "new cat" stage made me extra sensitive but whatever; it was
great to see Georgie got home ok.  She is a smart girl!
