As always movies and images at the links below.

They use pretty much all of their "stuff".  They scratch on both polls and
climb one of them and they get up on all the shelves and catways and they
even play with the fish-pole toy with me and even with each other until
they get it hopelessly tangled under a chair that is.  They come to me to
play with the laser pointer which I have finally decided does not frustrate
them as I feared; they enjoy chasing it and when it goes away they seem ok
with that.  As I show in one movie they totally know I do it and seemed to
know that after the first 15 seconds of the first session.

Their favorite toy is the box one of the litterboxes came it.  They pull
out the crumpled paper packing material (I put it back in the box during
the day) make a heap on the floor and then run into the heap a few times.
This is exactly like kids do with piles of leaves outside.

They let me get a bit closer but not too.  Last week after some laser play
Frank (I predicted he will let me touch him first) let me stroke his back
and give him a little tickle on his butt.  He did not run away and _did_
like it but then Lyle came over and explained to Frank the danger he was in
and they both left.  Lyle seems a little jealous of Franks braveness where
I am concerned but also a bit worried for Frank's safety.

My current dilemma is this:  my basement apartment collect dust very
quickly and I fell out of the habit of running all my air filters which
_may_ have helped a bit.  I also find the Scoop Away litter creates a lot
of dust as someone else here mentioned.  I have NOT run the vacuum since I
brought the boys home and I have reached my limit and will do so today or
tomorrow.  I hope the boys can forgive me the scare they will likely get.
Well I did not intend this update to be so long but there you have it.

It looks like you're making slow but sure progress. Hopefully Frank and Lyle
will soon forget the Sucky Monster after it's turned off.

Hope so.  I haven't fired them up yet.  I am gonna use dust-rags and dust-
mop on furniture and floors which will only leave the rug which will need
the upright.  Maybe they will be like Topper was; he wasn't afraid and even
got in the way when I vacuumed.

That was fun! You've really thought carefully about what the cats need -
all those catwalks. I'm so glad they let you stay there, too. :) I hope
they'll forgive you soon for vacuuming.

I always imagined having cool catwalks going from room to room and up and
down but since I stayed single I could never rationalize the expense of a
large enough home so I had to scale my dreams down a bit.  All my cats have
loved the interesting nature of their home.  There are also boxes behind
the furniture that are one cat size and the new guys already use them.

I hope

Done!  It did not go so bad.  Frank slept behind the couch even as I
vacuumed under it and Lyle stayed in the window.  While I was cleaning the
kitchen set Lyle was about to jump down from the window (and get in the
way) so I told him stay there and he did!  Ok, might have been a
coincidence.

What a wonderful set of kitty digs you have, Andy.  I know it's nosey,
but what work do you do in your workshop?

I used to do a lot of electrical and electronics building.  I still do
some but mostly I only fix whatever breaks like the digital clock the
little darlings pushed off the dresser.  It sustained a cracked circuit
board which I was able to repair.  I built that from a kit 35 years ago
and it still works great.
