Melba update - anti cancer purrs?

Hi there:

I just spoke to my SIL about Melba and the ultrasound today showed an
enlarged spleen and nodules on the pancreas that could indicate either
pancreatitis or cancer of the pancreas.  Pancreatitis is manageable but
the cancer isn't.

Tomorrow at 2 PM they are aspirating the pancreas nodules and the spleen
and will know 48 hours afterwards if it is cancer.

My SIL is beside herself with worry for her 8 year old kitty.  Any
anti-cancer related purrs would be much appreciated for a much loved kitty.

Lots of anti-cancer purrs on the way. Oh, I really hope it's
pancreatitis (sounds bad, but better than cancer).

Oh, I do hope it's not cancer. Poor Melba. Your poor SIL, too.

I hope your SIL gets the best news possible about her beloved Melba.

Purrs are on the way. And I have lit a candle, too, because I can't
think of anything else to do.

Lots of anti-cancer purrs coming up for Melba.
Sorry to say this but it doesn't sound too good so if you can lead your sil
towards the possibility of bad news without saying it's not possible at
all..aww, you know what I mean.
I had a lovely whippet, Pearl, my pearlie-girlie.  I will share this
although it  may not be the same in cats.  She got pancreatitis, that in
itself can be life-threating in dogs.  Wasn't too long after that seemed to
be sorted that her spleen ruptured out of the blue through a tumour with no
symptoms.  Had her spleen removed and 6 or so months later she broke her leg
getting out of bed (bone cancer) - there was a primary cancer in there
somewhere.
There seems to be a relationship between things going wrong with pancreas
and spleen.
Prepare her gently is all I can say really.  If I am wrong here I will be
happy, but if you are prepared for bad news and then get good news..
