Four is doing well. He is very well acclimated to the porch and his
surroundings including the maid service. He gets his meds in the mini-meal
twice a day morning and night, then breakfast, lunch, afternoon meal and an
late night meal. He drinks a lot of water so has two water bowls going at
the same time. He loves to be petted and talked to, and looks me straight in
the face when talking to me. The wound is closing at a rapid rate, it is
closed by about a third at this point.
St. Francis has received the two payments that Victor sent. They covered the
vet visit, which Dr. Mulero was very kind about pricing out. There is enough
left over to get the antibiotic refill and a set of six vials of Revolution.
Thank you so very much, from the bottom of my heart thank you. You all
were very generous, isn't there something about helping a cat/kitty in need
that touches the furry place in your heart?
On to the biggest challenge: Four continues to pee and poop everywhere but
the litterboxes in his living area. He continues to pee in the Kitty
Klubhouse and poop in the Kitty Klubhouse and on the floor of the porch.
In the reading material I have courtesy of Helen Miles and from the Cat
Attract booklet with the product that I purchased at the suggestion of Susan
M it is suggested that if a cat does not use a litterbox to dump the litter
onto the floor. It will appear to be more "natural" to him.
David and I have decided to close all access to the Kitty Klubhouseas as
that is Four's primary toileting place. I will spray Feliway in the crate
as he has peed in there also and he can use that to sleep in as he did
previously. The two litter boxes will remain as they are; one huge one
being 3 feet by 2 feet full of dirt, the other large but smaller than the
first and full of Cat Attract. If Four does not use them I will dump the
dirt and the Cat Attract directly on to the floor of the porch. I hope he
will "get it."
David, dear David, was concerned that the dirt and litter on the floor was
going to make a mess that I was going have to clean up. I assured him that
it would be a better and more welcomed mess than the one I am cleaning up
now!!
Four had company the other day as the lady who used to feed him when he was
a stray dropped in to visit. She could see a big improvement in him. He
still runs and hides when anyone other than me comes to the door of the
porch or goes onto the porch. I'm sure he is still wary of people after his
horrible three years of survial on his own.

I'm so happy to hear Four is doing well. Purrs for the litterbox problems to
be sorted out.

A neighbor has a cat that won't use the box and they put a piece of plywood
down and dumped litter on that. Cat uses it and she says when the board
smells worse than her husbands sneakers., she gets a new board!!!

How funny, but if it works it works! I told David and he said, "Very
worthwhile information."

Have you tried putting a litter box in the Kitty Klubhouse and/or the
crate? Have you tried a covered litter box? Another thought is to
put some of his pee (something he peed on) and poop in the litter
boxes.
Annie, ever hopful that he will catch on

Have you tried putting a litter box in the Kitty Klubhouse and/or the
crate?
While the KK itself is large the area's in it are to small to accomadate a
litter box. The crate is a large crate but might accomodate an alumimum pam
as might the KK. I could try that.
Have you tried a covered litter box?
Haven't tried that yet.

Have tried that and that hasn't worked either.

Keep suggesting Annie and I'll keep trying!

That's very difficult! People have said that I had a hard time with
Dot when she was stressed, but she was properly litter trained, and at
least used her box *occasionally*. Since she's been properly settled,
she's been perfect, and hasn't gone once outside her litter box since
around September. I hope that you'll have similar luck.

I'm sure he'll be okay once he "gets it." But him "getting it" is the
problem.
We'll keep working on it. He's worth it!

Yes, when you look at it that way it is progress! I love to pet him as he
really enjoys being petted. No purring yet though.
