I finally got an acceptable picture of one of the grown up Walsung
cats
- it's not great, or even particularly good, but it will have to do.
The
other two (Brunhilda and Sieglinde) look much the same.

I do like the expression on his face - he's not used to having a
camera
shoved in his  face.

He's about 29 inches / 74 cm.  All three of them grew up to be big
cats.

"Siegmund!  Sieh auf mich!"

He looks  wonderful -- you'd never *know* he's not used to a camera.  He's
all "YEeEEEsss?"

I managed to get acceptable pictures of the other two later in the
afternoon - wet weather was keeping them inside.  I put them all together
as <http://67.54.246.139:9000/tdavis/cats/red_tabby/walsung.html>.

The last picture is of Siegmund's most distintive feature: the tightly
curled tail.  Sieglinde has a slight kink at the end of hers, but it
doesn't show.

The picture of Sieglinde is almost a miracle: she went into a panic when I
brought the camera into the mud room - in the picture she looks relaxed,
but she was just changing escape modes.  Brunhilda is the largest - she's
bigger than all but a couple of my males.

They're all beautiful. You're right, Sieglinde looks quite relaxed, as
though she had been sitting that way for a while.

I think that photo of Siegmund in front of the computer is the best one.
You'd never know he wasn't used to people getting in his face with a
camera.

Your color-coding is very patriotic. :) I actually can't see the collars
at all in the photos, I just read about it on the site.

Great shots!

He was being very demanding and outgoing at that time - when I got up to
get the camera, he did the weaving in and out of my feet business
going and coming (and got kicked a few times).  He's also very vocal, and
like all my vocal cats, a licker.

The colors were supposed to be red, green, and blue (the additive primary
colors), but then I realized that I really only needed to color two of
them, and put *any* color on the third to distinguish him/her from the
unrelated red tabby (Dandy) and to provide redundency in case one of the
colored ones was lost - loss of any two colors, regardless of how many
colors were used would still present a problem, but Brunhilda is larger
and darker than the other two, and those are of different sexes as well as
having distinct tails.  Loss of two colors, as happened a couple of times,
would require distinguishing between two females, one of whom has a kink
in her tail, or between a male and a female - easy enough.

They all look great!

Zak used to have that "curly pig" tail when you pet him.  I always got a
kick out of it.

They're all beautiful. That's very strange with Siegmind's tail. I've
never seen anything like it, though Nikki used to hold her tail in some
very excentric poses.

I have a couple of cats that hold their tails almost parallel with their
backs when happy - when most cats hold theirs straight up.  Siegmund can
hold his tail straight - it's not deformed or anything.  It's almost like
he rolls it up to keep it out of the way.

Nikki would hold her tail along her back. She would also hold it upright
with a hook at the top, or with the tip pointing forward. It was very
funny and expressive, but I never quite figured out what she was trying
to say.

Sometimes she would walk side by side with Frank and curl her tail
around his back.

He is a noble=looking beastie!

He's very handsome, but definitely does not look very pleased about the
camera.
