I successfully clipped off the remaining poopy fur - there wasn't much
left, and thankfully it was dried out and not too smelly. Smudge wasn't
thrilled that I was doing it, but she didn't flip out, either. She kept
trying to get away, but I was able to keep her still enough to get the
right tuft of fur and remove it.
And then I figured, since that wasn't so hard, that I'd try to clip
off lots of rear-end fur and make it much shorter. I got a lot of it.
I couldn't really tell if the fur was significantly shorter, but there
was plenty on the counter. This was on the counter next to the kitchen
sink, btw - I later wiped down the whole area with disinfectant.
Hopefully this will be the end of that problem! Thanks for the help.

Well, they don't like poopy butt either, so they can be surprisingly
cooperative. Pearl had a bit the other night. She will not let me TOUCH
her pantaloons etc. usually, but I was easily able to tissue off some
excess. I think she was like "yeah! *I* don't have to do that now."

You're a braver woman than I am! But I'm glad it went so well. Smudge
was probably happy to get rid of the icky fur.

Smudge is lucky to have such a loving Meowmy. A few months ago Sam
had some diarrhea and got some on his fluffy pantaloons - whatever he
was eating that day was STINKY!

Clumsy fingers....anyway, I picked him up and discovered the problem
which was now on my arm. I cleaned him up the best I could but he
didn't want me messing with him. At least until he started cleaning
back there himself and then he accepted my help. I watched a few
minutes as he licked the stinky poo off his backside, shook my head as
I thought of the last time I let him lick ice cream off of my spoon
and then put said spoon in my mouth and then helped him get cleaned
up. The things we do for our babies.

Glad you were able to trim it out!
