Like Betty used to, Dot begs to be held. When I put my hands under
her arms, she raises her arms up high and goes limp. Superkitty! I
pick her up and hold her soft body against my chest and kiss her on
the cheek while giving her fingertrip scritches on her belly with one
hand, and the base of her tail with the other.
If you can picture this with her arms all splayed out and purring her
loud purr, it looks and feels like I'm playing a kitty bagpipe. :)

That's funny, Tak. Dot is not a small cat. What musical instrument is
Buster?

That's a whole 'nother story. He's a very versatile musical
instrument, and puts a lot of emotions into his happy trills, soulful
wails, and pleading whines, and joyful warbles.

Maybe Dotty is a Scotty!

Tak, you have no idea how glad Hopitus is to read this post from you
and to realize that you have fulfilled my wish for you to honor
Betty's
short time in your life by welcoming and loving more of her kind with
all your heart. I say, "of her kind" because as you may recall (or
not)
I have believed for a long time that cats came here by accident from
a faraway planet where everyone was their size there....but we are
giants to them and relegated them here to pet status, which they
have never recovered from and take every opportunity to display their
cunning and intelligence to their captors (yeah, US). Like many
hoomins I don't hav e much imagination, Tak, so how about
concocting a video of what you describe here? I did so enjoy the
one you posted many years ago of Betty playing with your voice
talking to her.....and Happy Holidays from MileHigh...it WILL be
a white one for sure out here (BIG WHOOP).

Didn't someone else post something similar to this recently? Every time
they squeezed, the cat emitted a long meow, sort of drone-like? Was that
Mark? Or Theresa?
Maybe we have a bagpipe orchestra in the making.

Wait - I remembered where this came from! But it was *not* recent. It
was only recent to me, because I was looking through old post archives
the other day, searching for something else... and came across this post
along the way:
From: "TJ and The Flabulous Dust" <katREMOVEfeesh@hotmail.com>
Subject: Re: CATamaran
Date: Fri, 31 Aug 2001 01:29:09 GMT
LOL! The other day I was carrying Dust around hiked up on my right
shoulder, forearm below, supporting his massive girth, hand cupped on
his side (for extra support), he puts his paws on my shoulder and
stands tall with the back of his head against my ear. My mom said it
looked like I was carrying bagpipes. So I gave him a little squeeze
and he bleated out a note!!! Everytime I squeezed he bleated, not a
meow but a bleat, like a dying cow.
LOL.

TJ would probably dress a cat in tartan too, for even greater effect.
I suspect that she was actually burping Dusty at the time the above
happened. :)

Not me, although both my guys emit tiny, hilarious honk-shus when they
sleep. ;)

Just so she doesn't sound like one. Best wishes. MLB
