This is reposted from Kimberly's blog

lots of pictures there:

Dec. 21st, 2007 03:33 pm *Rest* little Roo, rest...

It's over. He was done fighting, so we helped him out and let him stop
working so hard just to breathe. They really always do tell you when
they're done, if you're listening, in my experience. He was done.

I called Aidon at home and told him I wasn't sure, but that he should
come and see what he thought. He and David showed up about twenty
minutes later. We all spent some time with him, and Aidon agreed. Roo
just didn't want to fight any more.

His eyes were still bright, and he did still purr, but he was just SO
exhausted!

Aidon said goodbye, and then I took the basket he was in out of the
cage, and sat down right where I've spent the last two weeks - in the
back area. The rooms don't have oxygen, and I told the vet I didn't care
if anyone back there saw me cry - I'd seen them all for the last two
weeks, and vice versa.

Darla, his personal vet tech, saying good bye too.

I got a lot of hugs from folks there, and there weren't many dry eyes.

I'm so incredibly grateful to have been given the ability to give Roo
the chance to see if he could overcome it all. Thank you all SO much!
I'll do a donation recap later, I'm sure, but for now... this is all I
can do.

I'm so sorry. :(  He looked like such a sweetie. Poor guy. I'm glad
that you let him go, though, it sounds like he didn't want to suffer
and struggle any more.

Hugs and purrs,
Joyce

Clarification: Roo was not my kitty - he was a foster kitty belonging to
kimberly, who is a fosterer in the SF Bay Area. I just know her from
online and got wrapped up in his story cuz he was such a little fighter.

Rest indeed, little one; and in the happy plains over the Bridge, run and
play with full breath and health, until the day you meet your dear ones again.

Aim, Roo will thank you on that day, for your courage to let go.

Odessa-Dolly, welcome Roo, and tell how sweet is the air, and how deeply one
can breathe it.

healing prayers and purrs for the sore hearts left behind.

Blessed be,
Baha
