Four did not have a good day today and there was nothing I could do to help
him. It started when I went out to sit with him on the porch early this
morning. As I was getting settled in and he was approaching I kicked the
almost empty bag of kitty litter that was close by. The crackling noise
drove him, at a run, to hiding in the Kitty Klubhouse. A couple of hours
later he was on the chaise lounge snoozing. The workmen had a problem with
the acetelye torch they were using and it made a series of loud popping
noises. Four was gone again to the refuge of the Kitty Klubhouse. After
lunch the workmen return with either a new torch or the old one now
functioning. They started using it and it set off the smoke detector! Poor
Four. I'm sure that if he could have dialed a phone he would have called a
taxi cab for a ride out of here. He was okay by dinner time I'm glad to
say.

Purrs for the nervous kitty! I'm glad he has the KK to hide in. I'm sure
that's important for him in terms of becoming more relaxed - he knows
there's somewhere he can go to feel safe, if he needs to. Even my girls,
who are generally not scaredy cats at all, sometimes need to hide out
when there's too much stressful noise in the environment. Glad to hear that
he was able to calm down by dinner time.

Poor Four! I hope he doesn't have another day like that for a long time, if
ever. I'm glad he had the Kitty Klubhouse for a refuge. I'll bet he was,
too.

This early morning got off to a promising start for him. Our roommate,
Larry, talked to Four through the screened window. This would be Four's
first encounter with a male in the house. Larry has a deep voice. Four
stayed on the chaise lounge where he was laying and just watched Larry
through the window until Larry left. Very good.

The next morning (today) is off to a good start. He has not lost any
confidence. He can hear me preparing his meals through the kitchen/porch
window and he lets me know he wants me to work faster. At the door he was
right there demanding that I hurry up, hard to do when he has his big body
across the door way!

Poor baby, I'm glad he's got the Kitty Klubhouse to feel safer in.

Poor Four. But he is still hanging around. Those scares couldn't have
helped, but it shows that he still finds some beniefit in staying near.
Keeping up the purrs that he learns to trust you, soon.

that clubhouse might be one of the best things, he retreats to there and is
always safe, which I am sure is a comfort to him, Lee

I have pictures of it and showing it as we took it apart to clean it and
then reassemble it . It is made from scraps of lumber, sheets of plywood,
rug remmnets and so on. David made it for Mr. Pumpkin who loved it and spent
most of the hours that David wasn't home in or on the Kitty Klubhouse. I'll
get the pictures togther.
