Integrating Furby and Princess is going much better than I expected -
especially with Little Bit. Little Bit had such a hard time accepting
Spotty that I expected her to take a long time to accept the two
newbies. I already wrote that she has started allowing Princess on the
bed - one of LB's 'special' spots that it took months before Spotty
was permitted to occupy. Well, when I woke this afternoon, Furby was
on the bed. When Sammy woke up she hissed at Furby and left the bed,
but then she always gets up when I do so she can get at the fresh
kibble I put out. When I got up LB woke too, but she just looked at
Furby and didn't even hiss. LB is the only adult cat that Furby pays
attention to when they hiss at her - she even ignores Princess as
often as not, but when LB hisses she stops what she's doing at looks
at LB. Maybe LB has decided that Furby is OK, since with Furby here LB
can sneak in and eat some of the kitten food. I've been feeding Furby
and Princess in the bathroom away from the established cats, but the
old timers have figured out that there's usual left yummy left overs,
even if it's only a bite or two.
Tonight Spotty and Furby are chasing each other around. At first I
thought Spotty might be playing too rough, but Furby didn't seem to
mind. About the time I was thinking I might have to intervene Spot
took off running with Furby in hot pursuit. Thinking about it, I guess
Princess is just as rough as Spotty was being, in fact Princess is the
only one I've ever seen actually swat Furby.
Right now Sammy is the only holdout about being around Furby. I think
that's jealousy as much as anything. Sammy is the only one who seems
to mind when someone is playing with "her" stuff, and a couple times
she's chased Furby away from one of her toys, even when she hasn't
played with the toy for a long time. Furby seems to have a talent for
finding toys that have been lost under furniture or wherever, and when
Sammy sees what Furby has found she decides to reclaim it.

reading about these antics has been one of the high spots of the season,
thank you.

I agree, we've lost so many here that reading about kitten antics is
doubly sweet. I suspect Furby's size, or lack of might help with
finding lost toys.
