I can't find a cat like him.

The pain will ease. You'll never lose the feelings you have for
Casey, but they will change. Sorrow and anger will change to
happy memories - but they're still the same feelings. Love
conquers all.
The Great Cat will send you a new master or mistress when She
knows you're ready - you don't have to go looking for a cat. Of
course a cat will find you - but I doubt it'll be like Casey.
Cats are people too, you know - no two are alike. Similar,
maybe - but never the same.

I know what you are feeling right now and, yes, the analogy of a child is
close. I miss my Scooter so bad I can taste the hurt sometime but, as in
all things, the world keeps turning and life moves on whether we like it or
not. Sanding purrs and prayers for your pain to ease. That and a couple of
glasses of good wine will help for a couple of hours anyway.

Geez. Thanks I think? I'm still trying to live without Case. It's
been difficult.

Six months seems to be a good time frame for deep mourning. Oh, you'll
never
be *over* your loss, but in six months you might be able to think
about Casey
without immediately tearing up. The pain will get better. Casey will
live on, in your
happy memories and love.
My Fin has been gone for over 3 years now, and my eyes still leak a
little when I think
about him, but then Rita comes over and demands petting, and I
remember that she
needs me too. She's not a replacement. She's just part of the next
stage of my life.

What Mat said.
I don't think I'll *ever* stop missing Shmogg, but I now, after my heart has
healed enough, Ican go on loving and living. The Mothership recognised my
need, and sent me two furry masters to look after me - they're nothing like
Shmogg but need me and I need them. There will be no other cat like Shmogg,
but if these cats *were* like him, I'd never recognise their own uniqueness,
I'd always just be wishing they'd be him, rather than being able to
appreciate them as themselves.

Thank you all. It seemed to me that you were into my thoughts there
for a while. Thanks for giving me some space.

You never will. But you will love another cat, just a very different one.
Even our three male pedigreed applehead meezers have been far more different
than they have similar.

It's been a very short time. The first two months after Frank passed, I
was sort of numb, then it hit me like a ton of bricks and I was a wreck
for a while. Couldn't even read rpca for a while, because it reminded me
so much of him. I wish I could help you, but you just have to suffer
through it. It does get better, though you'll never stop missing him. Go
and hug Bobby (if he'll let you) and take these purrs from us.
Mir: silent but magical purrs
Caliban: loud, immensely soothing purrs

You never will find a cat like him, as with all cats Casey was unique. One
day you will find another cat to share your life who'll you will love as
much but differently.

never get over losing Casey. Your heart will hurt but in time will adjust to

He had the same sort of lovable wackiness as my Splodge. I didn't
know cats like that existed before he came along, either.

I did take in a foster today and he looks much like Casey but it is
not Casey. This cat is very different and I realize I am still in the
grieving stage but I couldn't take another week of Bobby being alone
and I also need another cat around here.

Thanks. He is now in the closet close to the litter boxes so I just
hope he knows where to pee.

never fear, you will be the first to know if he doesn't know!
