Okay, so the neighbour isn't all that bad - apparently they are NOT his
kittens. His neice confirmed that. So I asked around, and it turns out that
the woman who lives a few doors down across the road lost her kitten about
six months ago. That kitten is now a cat and has two kittens of her own -
the same two kittens that I saw in my garden last week.
MamaCat is stunning - white & ginger, with beautiful pale blue eyes. Her
kittens are about five weeks old now and eating on their own. At the moment
the MamaCat and two babies are living under the decking of the house. My own
cats are too big to squeeze through the wooden lattice, but MamaCat is thin
and she doesn't have a problem.
I have been feeding all three of them for about a week now. They are all
very scared of people, especially Mama, but she does bring her babies here
to eat, thank goodness. MamaCat may have gained a bit of weight, and the
babies are doing well. I wish I could get close enough to pick them up and
take them to the vet. MamaCat needs to be spayed ASAP.
The woman across the road who lost Mamacat six months ago said that she
"doesn't want the cat back" because she has a bird now. Jeez. So many people
would give their right arm to have their beloved lost kitty back.
I will have to find homes for all three of them - I just cannot afford to
adopt any more cats. They won't come out to eat when I am outside, but I
will try to get pix of them through the window.
Anyway, I will keep you updated.
Purrs to all,

Purrs for successful trapping, Flippy. I'm so sorry about MamaCat - she
sounds like a beauty. Too bad her former slave was so clueless.

Many good luck purrs for finding homes for the little family. If all of us
had homes and pocketbooks as big as our hearts we would probably keep all
the kitties and dogs that came into our lives!!

Lots of purrs that you can get the mother cat spayed before she gets
pregnant again and that you find loving homes for all three.

Thank you so much for taking care of them, Flippy.
We are sending lots and lots of purrs and best wishes for you to be able
to get near MamaCat so she can be spayed and for all of them to find
loving homes,

Purrs that you can find good forever homes for all three. Sounds like
the woman across the road doesn't deserve Mamacat.
I guess I'm among the world's worst at re homing strays - I've now got
three who either showed up here pregnant or with kittens, and two of
the kittens.
