not really. But I instead of clicking the button to get new headers I
just told the reader to get all headers - over 99,000. Unfortunately,
this reset everything, so now I have unread messages going back to the
middle of 2006.

Be thankfull you don't use Giganews, the messages on their server go back to
2003.

Sometimes I'm quite grateful that my server only retains messages for a
few months.
