I'm home by myself. I'm not sure where Charlie went, but he is out. I know
my oldest grandson is sick, the flu or mono or strep or something like that.
His mom called a bit ago and I couldn't really understand her on the phone.
Something about Charlie and Michael and doctors and money. But I couldn't
piece it together to figure out what she was trying to tell me or ask me.
Plus I'm not feeling well enough to go out and run around to figure out who
needs what.
I'm sure it will all work out, but for now I'm worried and can't really do
anything about it. So I'm asking for some general purpose, everything will
be OK purrs.
Thanks.

Thank you both. I'm just feeling kind of isolated right now. Charlie would
normally be home by now with Ryan and Steven from school. No show. But
Ryan would have called by now if he didn't get picked up, I think.

Thanks guys. Charlie is home with Ryan. He called our daughter and found
out that Michael (oldest grandson) came home from college this morning, he
is currently at Urgent Care (a step below emergency room) with whatever is
making him sick. And we can expect to be caring for a sick and most likely
contageous 19 year old for at least a few days. That will be fine. I can
deal with what I know at least. So off to get his room ready.

Michael is fed and tucked into bed with lots of pillows and blankets and TV
and remote. He has something to sooth his very sore throat and an
antibiotic to fix whatever is wrong. He got fired from his job for calling
in sick earlier this evening, so is upset about that of course. Hopefully
they will reconsider, or at least he can find something else soon. But
getting well comes first. At least he isn't missing any classes since its
semester break.
Thank you for the purrs. I was feeling so anxious by myself.

What kind of employer does something like that?!

It's Border Books in Sacramento. A truly rotten thing to do to a college
student who is scraping by. There is no way he should be at work till this
heals up. He looks awful. Bad sore throat as well as sores in his mouth
and his lips are puffy.
He had to head back to school this afternoon for finals anyway.
I wish I could keep him for a few days till he's well and gets a few decent
meals, but I know what its like if you miss finals.

I'm glad you know what's going on now. As you say, sick you can
handle. It's the unknown that is so stressful.
Firing for calling in sick is a truly rotten thing to do.
