of the kittens, really got me to thinking...

I love the 2 white kittens. Just like popcorn!

My Blizzard(RB) was just like that, when she was little.

How I miss her...and her white fur that got on *everything*.

Sigh...I still have lint rollers that I haven't used, that I bought when
she was still here. And she went to the Bridge on April 10th, 2001.

Someday I'd like to get another white kitty. I've seen several at the
Humane Society, when I go to visit the poor kitties who are waiting for
some human to adopt them...

Someday I want to have LOTS of cats:

A white cat, of course.

A marmalade cat is a must.

Any cat with long, very very soft fur.

A black cat with big gold eyes.

*Any* cat with big, pretty blue eyes.

A pretty little gray cat, just like Mir.

A big, beautiful, friendly, classic tabby, with white paws, just like
Caliban.
(I'm a little jealous of Marina, you might guess...)

And a cat that follows me everywhere, always comes when I call, even
when he/she is sleeping, and always wants to be in my lap, and loves to
lick my face, just like my RB kitty, Lucky, who has been gone so very
long now.

That's eight, a good number of kitties to have. Manageable.

Well, barely, in my 650 sq. foot, 5 room, house. But I have 2 porches
for them to play or sleep in, on nice days....!

Someday....

Sigh....

I love Kenzie so very, very much. But I can't get another kitty; she has
made that very, very clear.

But there are so many cats who need homes, I just like to day dream
about having a lot of cats.

Does anyone else think about kitties they would like to have?

I neglected to include that I would adopt all my kitties as adults. They
have a harder time finding their one true homes, than kittens.

All the time. :) You say you're jealous of me for my cats, but I would
like a calico. And I would like a ginger. And a black cat. And more
tabbies, because tabby is just my favourite colour. :)

I periodically check out the site of the society that I adopted Caliban
from. There's a gorgeous black boy that's been in foster care for months
now. I so wish I could have a third cat. Mum says I'm not allowed to
come to the island if I have three cats. :P I couldn't transport them,
anyway. But my heart really aches for that gorgeous black boy that
nobody wants.

I have seen cats at my local Humane Society that have been living in
cages for months, some for 6 months. It just breaks my heart. I want to
adopt them all.

I can't, of course. I can't do anything, except take them out of their
cages for a little while. They are sooo happy when I take them out of
their cages, and so very sad when I have to put them back.

They reach their paws through the bars, begging to be set free, when I
put them back :-( The way their little faces look at me through the bars
haunts me, late at night when I can't sleep.

At least they are alive. I know how many cats and kittens the 'Humane
Society' kills, but once they put a cat up for adoption, they are never
put to sleep, and that is some small comfort to me. (Very small).

Oh yes. The two (Little Boy and Bucky) who have turned into night and
weekend cats until we get a home, ALL the sweet ferals who come to our door
for food (Senyah would KILL me!), every cat I see...

Yes, I need the male version of the Archie McPhee Crazy Cat Lady toy.

<covers Smudge's eyes> Often, yes! :)

I've always had a thing for "creamsicle" cats - orange with white
underneath.

I also love Caliban-style stripey cats with white, but I have one of those!

And I used to wish for a black cat with gold eyes - now I have one of
those, too. Granted, he's really a tux, but he has minimal white, and
a mostly-black face. I love tux cats too.

I've come to really like calicos, so I'll take one of those, too. :)

I mostly like moggies, but among purebreds, I like Abi's, Maine Coons
and Bengals. And although I've never had a special desire for a Siamese,
a friend of mine had an apple-headed Siamese who was a real sweetheart,
so I wouldn't turn down one of those, either.

But with all this fantasizing, it seems that I end up with the cats I
end up with. Clearly, there are 3 cats in the world who must have said,
"I'd like a short, chubby, dark-haired, middle-aged female human". :)

If, with all the homeless cats in the world, I were prepared
to pay real money for a cat, I'd seriously consider a
Sphinx.  With all those wrinkles, they're so ugly they're
cute!  (Also have quite interesting personalities, I
understand.)

When it comes to being in my life, in my house, I always just seem to get
black and white.  Stinky was an accident, of course, a wonderful one-- but
the cats I went out and chose, or who rather chose *me*-- were black and
white.  I love all kinds of cats.  I particularly love those famous tabbies
with spotty tummies, and black-velvety paws.  I love big orange tabby
boycats, and petite tortie and calico girlies, solid black and solid white
cats, sealpoints, lynxpoints, Abys, Somalis, Maine Coons, etc, etc.  I love
'em all.

{{{{{Gandalf}}}}}}

Well, I've got nine and a 10th visiting, and I've had a total of (oh,
never mind! mmmummmble) cats in my life, so there is very little
lacking, from personality to color and everything in between.

But I have never had a calico cat.  I have decided, at my age, I will
not adopt again, as it would be unfair to any young cat I adopted (given
that it isn't that unusual anymore for a cat to live 20 years, and I
will likely be in the Summerlands in 20 years).  So I probably never
will have a calico. I will have to wait for the next lifetime, and then
surround myself with calico princesses :-)
