Mattie, my newest addition, somehow managed to get into my beanie baby
collection.  I'll never figure out how - it is high up and she can't
jump more than about 20 inches.  In any event, I came home to her
killing the stork. And carrying it around like a dead bird.  I swear she
looked so proud that she had killed the thing.  She carried it around
all evening long.  It must have occasionally moved on her because she
would take to bouts of kicking it vigorously to make sure it was really
dead and then she would pick it up and carry it around some more.  It
was all the more hysterical because it carried just like a dead bird and
yet was half her size.  I wish I could have gotten pictures.

The stork, this morning, is none the worse for wear, I don't think.
She's ready to be killed again should that need to happen.

LOL! That sounds so cute!  Orion had a rather unhealthy attachment to my
daughter's sweat pants. He would carry them around by the drawstring, growling
low, like he was dragging a gazelle or something.

OMG!  That's hilarious!!  What if your daughter was wearing them?
Would Orion try to take them away from her?

Cats are so comical.

ROFL!

Sounds like the 'Death Of The Stork' was pretty entertaining.
Glad it's okay though, and still part of the collection.

Looking forward to meeting you on Saturday Bridget!

I'll be holding a sign that says:

and I'll hopefully be standing next to a tall good looking
blond guy (my husband) since he knows his way around airports
better than I do.

Cool.  I can't wait.  I'm going to be wearing a nice denim skirt with
embroidery on the bottom and an incredibly bright pink peasant blouse.
It is my favorite and most comfortable thing to wear these days.

In our household, the beanie babies belong to the cats. :)

Luna does that with a snake. She *loves* that thing.

Oh, it probably will. Basho has a couple of favorite prey toys, a
buffalo beanie baby and a chipmunk I got him in Colorado in September.

My little cat Mouse has her "baby" that she just loves. It's a beat up
tattered yellow feather from a long ago cat toy. Mouse carries her baby
around and cries. I think it's the cries of a proud mother. Then she'll
sit down and groom her baby. After that she'll carry it to bed. It's so
cute. The feather has seen much better days but I just don't have the
heart to try and replace it with another one.

Gidget used to carry off then hide my dish sponges on a regular basis.
She only liked them if they were wet though.  I found her stash
underneath our bed one day, and took them back to the kitchen.  Then a
few days later, I walked into our bedroom, and on the floor in front
of the sink/vanity, was a bar of Ivory soap with tooth marks in it.
I'm guessing Gidget, because she never took my kitchen sponges after
that.

For a while, she would carry around balloons (inflated) by the tie
end, and once, after kite flying, we hadn't put the kites back into
the kite room, and Gidget found one of those fluorescent glow sticks.
Thank goodness they're non-toxic because as quickly as she took it,
she bit into it and was fluorescing blue from her mouth.  We jumped up
to get it away from her, and sensing this, she took off running with
her prize. It wasn't hard to find her, as there was a trail of
fluorescent blue droplets on the floor leading directly to her.  (That
stuff is much brighter outside of the tube than it is in.)  I washed
out her mouth as best I could (Gidget is hard to hold on to) and now
we're more careful about putting things up right away.

I am laughing so hard right now at the thought of the blue trail and
kittie's mouth glowing. HHaaaaa. I do remember the story about the
sponges. Cats are funny creatures.

This reminds me of a hooman incident with a glow in the dark green
condom.  So thankful that Gidget didn't suffer any ill effects from the
blue glow stick. I don't suppose you noticed if the litterbox glowed in
the dark a day or two later did you?

LOL! I should have known.  My husband drives a race car as a hobby and
we travel a lot during the year.  One year, about 10 years ago, we were
on our way to Memphis, TN and stopped to get gas.  In the rest room was
a condom dispenser as is common in public rest rooms.  At that time our
race car was painted with a Kawasaki motorcycle paint scheme which is
green with blue numbers.  In the condom machine were green, glow in the
dark condoms.  Being in a silly mood I bought a package.  Later that
night we got to the motel we were staying at and one thing led to
another and DH put the condom on but we had forgotten to turn off one of
the lights and he had to get up to turn it off.  When he did all you
could see was this green penis moving across the room.  This turned out
to be the *best* form of birth control imaginable because I couldn't
stop laughing long enough to proceed with the deed.  But it seemed that
whatever the glow in the dark substance was it transferred easily to
anything that touched it so that when my DH touched me he left green
fingerprints on my leg, breast and stomach.  It didn't take long for me
to think about what else might turn glow-in-the-dark-green which led to
thoughts of the joke about the woman who used her daughter's washcloth
just before visiting the gynie and it turned out the washcloth was where
her daughter was saving her cosmetic glitter. Needless to say, the
condom had to go before things progressed but the memory was priceless
and hilarious. (The telling is funnier in a less public forum :))

LOL! Nikki carries around Frank's stuffed piggy and sings to it. Then
she kills it. Then she picks it up again and carries it around, singing
to it with a muffled voice.

Oh, that is exactly what Stinky does with the poor mousies.
He runs from one end of the room to the other with it hanging out of

Ahh, another beanie baby killer.  Pine Cone goes for Rob's goats and
Smokey (or whatever his name is) has a beanie baby dachshund.  All of
them take a beating at irregular intervals.
