I got one. Should be here before Christmas. Casey passed Monday from
kidney failure. This sorta looks like him.

Bobby is missing the Case man as I am. Whenever there is a noise,
Bobby runs to see if it is Casey. I swear I thought I heard him eating
his kibble about 3am the other morning. Casey was the cat that
followed me everywhere. Go to the kitchen, he is underfoot. Open the
fridge, his nose is peeking in below. Go to the bathroom, he follows
and sits there or wants to be picked up. After 12 years of living with
a cat like that, you notice him missing.

But, I am doing as good as I can to get my mind busy. Work has been
good. Bobby is getting extra hugs and attention. Thanks again to you
all for your thoughts and prayers.

Casey was Bobby's buddy (and half-brother). They groomed each other
and played together for their lifetime.

Bobby is alone now and seems depressed. I really don't want to even
attempt to replace my boy Case, but Bobby is so alone. What can I do
other than give more attention?

Bobby has never been alone this long. I work all day and sometimes
work 12 hours or more a day. Will Bobby get more depressed or what can
I do for him?

I don't think that if you adopted a playmate (ie, another kitty) for
Bobby, that you would be trying to replace Casey. You just don't want
Bobby to be lonely, and I don't blame you. Maybe you don't feel ready
for another cat just now, but Bobby might... just something to think
about.

It is not replacing, you can never do that.  However, there are lots of cats
that need a friend and a home.

When Frank passed (exactly two years ago today), Miranda missed him a
lot, though she had only known him for under a year. Caliban didn't care
so much, but then he'd only known him a few months. It broke my heart to
see Mir looking for Frank, but she (and I) had little Caliban to keep us
occupied and amused. He really helped us both a lot during that time.

I don't know how Bobby would react to another kitty, but maybe it would
be worth a try? Maybe having a stranger in the house would take his mind
off looking for Casey.

You could _never_ replace Casey but you could, eventually, get another
companion for Bobby.

Aw, it's really cute -- I will pass that link onto my friend in Florida who
has lost several elder Persian kitties (17 years or so)  in the past 2
years.

Purrs for you and Bobby -- so sorry for your loss.
