Purrs for Phoenix

A lady called us (SPCA of Northern VA) about a cat that showed up on
her porch and didn't want to leave.  We picked him up and it turns out
that his front leg is severely injured because someone wrapped
rubber bands around it at the arm pit level.  He has been at the vet
office
for several days.  He did not seem to have feeling or be able to move
his
leg at first, but it has improved some.  Much of the dead flesh is
sluffing off
and they are soaking and cleaning his leg several times a day to try
and
save it.  I have been asked to take him to foster in a week or so,
when the
vet releases him.  Please purr and think healing thoughts for Phoenix
to
heal quickly and be able to keep his leg.  I will spare everyone the
sad
pictures of his poor leg.

I just can't imagine someone so cruel to do this to him.  He certainly
couldn't
have gotten those rubber bands wrapped around his leg himself.  I wish
we had
an idea who the person was.  The lady who called had never seen
Phoenix
before.

Many purrs on the way for Phoenix to make a full recovery.  The cruelty of
some people shouldn't amaze me, but it does.

That's horrible!! :(  Sounds like something some kids might do. The poor
cat - I hope his leg recovers. Sounds like it was like that for a while.
I'm glad he's finally being taken care of - he must be so relieved. It's
just too bad that whoever did this to him will probably never be caught.

How awful.  Purrs for his health.

Thank you all so much for the purrs for Phoenix.  Please keep them
coming.  I will update everyone on how he is doing on Monday.
I hope they are able to save his leg, but if it will be painful for
him
then it is better that they remove it.  Cats do fine with 3 legs.
We'll
see how he does over the weekend at the hospital.

Purrs for Phoenix to heal quickly and easily, and for those who hurt him

Many, many purrs and prayers en-route for Phoenix. And a pox on the
b*stard who did this to him.

Lots of purrs for Phoenix! The little brat that Snoopy lived with, before
she owned me, put a rubber band on her leg, luckily I spotted it quickly and
cut it off her. She limped for about three days afterwards. My mother thinks
that why Snoopy loves me, because I helped her that day.

Poor Phoenix. Of course, purrs and healing vibes are on their way for his
recovery. Noone deserves to be treated like that.

You know, it makes me wonder, the people who do cruel things to animals, how
do they sleep at night? How do they live with themselves? What on earth are
they thinking when they do stuff like this?

And the children who are cruel to animals, do they grow up to be violent and
abusive, or even serial killers? I can't imagine that they would become
well-adjusted adults.

The cruelty of some people makes me sad that I have to live in such a world.

This makes me sick.  I can barely stand to hear about things like this
anymore.

Purrs for healing and an invocation for Sekhmet for Justice.

Many and mighty purrs for Phoenix. I can't conceive in my mind of how a
person can do this to an animal.  Please keep us posted on Phoenix's
progress.

Purrs for Pheonix and his poor leg

People who can do things like that- I don't even think we can call
them "Human"

Purrs on the way, Debbie.  Too bad someone can't give the perpetrator
the same treatment.
