I met TED in the supermarket today, we were both buying cat food. I didn't
recognise her for a few seconds it's funny how you see people differently in
different circumstances.

So true. Neighbours don't look the same when they're away from their
houses, or they're not walking their dogs. I recognize the dogs before the
people. It can be quite embarrassing, so now I just smile at everybody in
case I know them.

Hmm. TED. Buying cat food. What's OT about that, even slightly? :)
How appropriate, though. Nice to know your vet is also a cat lover.

I have the same problem of not reconizing people in a different setting.
I will have someone come into my store and then I might see them at my part
time night job at Home Depot.

I know exactly what you mean. When I saw the person who works in the
library in the butcher's shop. She knew me immediately but I didn't. I
pretended I did. It was ages afterwards when I realised who she was.
However I would recognise any of my TED's anywhere. Too many times seeing
them over the years ;-)

I know what you mean. It felt very strange to sit down at Phillip's
station to have my hair cut and see Dr. Spikes, whom Lucy once bit
rather badly, having hers done at the next station over. It took me
awhile to figure out where I had seen her before. Luckily, she never
held that bite against either Lucy or me (Lucy was in bad shape that
night). She asked how Lucy was and was delighted that she is doing so
well.
