Many of you here at RPCA from all over the world joined the fan club
for Mooch our little tuxedoed resident stray. There are several
writeups and photos of our little gentleman cat in Flippy's website,
including a new one posted yesterday. It's about how Mooch has become
much more friendly in the over two years since he first came to us for
help. And the accompanying photos show him performing his newest antic
- rolling back and forth on the veranda mat!

He does, doesn't he? When he first came to us 2 1/2 years ago he was
so skinny you could see his ribs, his fur was matted, and he had a bad
scar on his back. Today he's almost chubby, his coat is sleek and his
back is completely healed.

Since I wrote that post I committed a faux pas with Mooch that proves
he's tamer these days, but not THAT tame. If I'm near any of our three
indoor cats I always give them a pat or a scritch. On the veranda the
other day I leaned down to give Mooch his food and water bowls, and
without thinking reached out my hand to stroke him. He started back
about two feet, and looked at me reproachfully as if to say, "You KNOW
that's a no-no". I backed off, apologizing, and Mooch dug into his
grub.
