A fine old lady indeed, but the article is wrong, the oldest cat ever was 36
and there have been several that lived past 30.
This one for instance.

Or this one.

I'm sure there are other examples, I've personally known two cats that have
reached 27.

Hmmm.  Very similar story to KFC's former life.  I have read evidence to
suggest that living on a semi-starvation diet increases life span (or maybe
it just feels that way..)  I don't think I will try it myself.
Kitty certainly led a very spartan life for many years until she knocked on
my door when she realised all my dogs had gone to RB.  I had fed her once a
day in the garden for years before that, after I caught her in the fox trap
and realised she was hungry to go in there.
She has only been enjoying the comforts of home since around 2001/2.  I have
a video of my yard and chickens in which she appears in 96.  I thought she
belonged somewhere else then, and thought nothing of her polishing off food
out for the hedgehogs, opportunist cat.
I never imagined how she must have have been struggling at that time.

However, her life is quite nice now.  She spends most of it heating her fur
in front of the fire and getting the very best things to eat.  She has
stopped hunting, she leaves that to Boyfriend, but she thinks he is a poor
apprentice.

Just goes to show, organic, non-processed food is the best. :)
