Tabitha Cain had fed a feral cat she called Wild Oats for several years,
but, after the cat got its head stuck in a peanut butter jar, she was
unable to capture the cat and free it from the jar.  Finally, the cat
became weak enough it couldn't evade the humans.  They captured it with a
fishing net and removed the jar, with the help of some oil.  The family
treated the cat's wounds and gave it water, and, after a couple of days,
it began to eat again.  Dorothea Cain, Tabitha's mother, is thinking of
changing the cat's name to Survivor.

Hopefully, this will be another case of a formerly-feral kitty becoming a
loved pet.

My god! How could the poor thing breathe? Well, obviously, it could,
but I'm surprised it didn't suffocate, let alone go hungry. Or break
the glass somehow and get seriously injured.

Poor baby, he must have been so scared. I'm glad it turned out OK!

Not glass I know but that's the reason I always crush cans before throwing
them away, the thought of any animal getting stuck in them is horrible.

Yeah, I always cut any ring of plastic so that it's not a closed circle
anymore. I hear terrible stories of birds and other small animals finding
plastic trash like this in landfills, and getting caught in a closed plastic
ring. (Like the kind that hold a 6-pack of soda or beer together, or a
single ring on the top of a milk bottle, etc.) Also, this stuff ends up
in the ocean, causing agony to sea animals. Always cut plastic rings!!

Yes, I do that as well, though I don't buy many things that have them.
