Folks,

It is with abject appologies that I need to change myself from being
"Send and Recieve" to "recieve only" this year. Because of the owners
having unexpected vet bills, I am not able to meet the financial cost
of the cards and the postage.

I'm really sorry and am hoping I'll be in a better position next year.

Congratulations!  If Persia weren't sound asleep on the floor next to me
she'd be doing a happy dance!

Jill <--going to light another fire in the fire place so Persia can meatloaf
in front of it and send good wishes and purrs :)

Thanks, Jill and Persia!!  They do love those fires, don't they?

Yep, at least this one does :)  She has her own little pillow and settles
down in front of it to watch the dancing flames.

Hello everyone,

Since I don't have funds to send out a whole list of cards (out of
Canada is so expensive, and there's so few of us in Canada!) but I do
have a few dollars to spare,  I'm adding a bunch of "Travelling Books"
to the list, so if you'd like one, please post in my thread.

Sorry to hijack the conversation. Just wanted to share with those of us
in the US, the rates for international postage are as follows:
Canada: $0.69
Rest of the world (in our list): $0.90

Unfortunately, I've been there and done that. Seems like the furry
ones can pick the worse times to develop problems requiring a TED
visit.  Sending purrs that the new year will see your finances
rebound.

No worries!  My joy is in making the cards and knowing that my "art" will be
going all over the world and hopefully putting a smile on the face of
someone who needs it.

No Problem Helen.  I've had years where not only didn't I send, but I
forgot to let the group know in advance.  This year I bought the
cards, but I couldn't' t find any with cats on them.  This is the
first time in ages that I bought season's greetings without owners on
them.  It don't feel right, but, thanks to Sam, I could at least buy
cards this year.

I may have to send cards without cats on as well this year. I ordered mine
weeks ago, the carrier admitted loosing the first ones and another lot
should have been sent, they haven't arrived and if they don't arrive in the
next few days I'll have to send ordinary cards.

My cards will have cats on them, but they are "Holly and Duffy cards" --
which means they are homemade (and look it), with pictures of Holly and
Duffy.  Definitely not professional and it actually costs more to make them
than to buy some, but I enjoy doing it.  And I hope all of you enjoy looking
at pics of my furry twosome.

Mine are from the local shelter, so the money went to a good cause. I'm
very pleased with this year's card - I hope you all enjoy it as much as
I did when i first saw it. Yes, there is a cat. :)

Not true!  Last year's card from you was *GORGEOUS* (I still have it).  Very
professional looking.

I know what you mean about the cost, though  I spent $180 for printer ink (3
full cartridges for each color and 5 for black).  [My cards are much more
elaborate this year than in the past - I can't wait for you guys to get them
and tell me what you think]!  And then the card paper and envelopes were $15
per 20 and I made 120 cards this year (my family and other RL friends get
sent one - they won't let me stop, it's become my "thing").  So, almost $300
when I could have gotten 120 cards at the dollar store for about $10!  ;>

BTW, when you get the cards as see the line "'Meow at the Moon' tour",
remember that Ozzy was named for Ozzy Osborne (he had an album/tour called
"Bark at the Moon").
