Just got an email from the woman who adopted "Spotty", the scrawny, emaciate
cat I rescued in the pouring rain and took to The House of Mews.

The woman who adopted him (they renamed him 'Egon') sent me a photo and said
he's turned into quite the rather chubby luxurious cat long haired orange
and white spotted cat.  He's gorgeous!  He has an orange mustache :)  She
said he had a hard time adapting to being an indoor kitty but he's now
appreciating being inside where the food and warmth and family is.  I was so
happy to hear this!

I'm glad you posted, Jill, it's nice to hear an update and to know
Spotty/Egon is doing well. Is there any chance you could scan the photo and
post it somewhere?

Seconded!  Your description made me want to see him.

Here he is!

Isn't he pretty?  He was so scrawny when I found him huddled under my
neighbors car in the rain.  I'm so happy he found a great forever-home!

Very handsome! As you say, he's getting a little chubby I hope he doesn't
get any heavier.

I'd rather see him chubby than the skin and bones under lots of matted fur,
which he was when I first found him.  The House of Mews (a non-profit
rehoming organization) keeps tabs on the adopted cats.  I'm pretty sure they
won't let him get too chubby.  I just love the way he looks now as opposed
to the way he was when he was in my 2nd bathroom!  And, it's hard to tell
with a long haired cat.

Isn't he pretty?  He was such a scrawny fellow; I could feel all his bones
when I brought him in, despite his long hair.  But once inside and fed (he
ate like he hadn't in two weeks, and for all I know he hadn't) he was such a
friendly, loving cat.  I knew he had lots of potential under that long,
matted fur.  Just look at the handsome guy now! :-D

Jill, what a handsome cat he is!!  That is so wonderful that you were able
to rescue him and that he has a story with such a happy ending.  He sure is
a big boy.

Good for you, Jill.  You made a difference for this sweet furkid's life and
that is something you can always be proud of.

I looked at Egon's photo and he is a beautiful fluffy guy -- he reminds me
of a kitty I had named Shetra with similar coloring and fur (you might take
a look at these photos of a Turkish Van kitty and see if Egon looks like one
to you -- he does to me!)

He does look similar, given the colouration.  But his fur is longer than
that.  More "fluffy" :)  Whatever he is, he's turned out to be a gorgeous
boy!  I'm glad I (via The House of Mews) could find him a good forever home
:)
