Yesss! I found this through CuteOverload. I prefer the real thing, though.

Of course you do - don't we all? This is for those times when the
real thing is not available. Such as, right now, for me.
Think it's time to listen to the purring again...

lol! It sounds just like the real thing too... Silly turned her head
to look at the speaker but then she decided it wasn't worth
investigating and turned away again.

MCG turned her head, glared at me for about 5 seconds than turned her
butt at me. I've been ignored and put on notice that this web site is
not acceptable.

Thanks, Joyce. Now I don't have to go out in the snow/whatever looking
for a neighbor's cat when I need a cat fix while visiting relatives
here....
bummer that all the relatives are bigtime allergic to cats so have
none.
Have never been able to figure out why cats go out at all here when
they
have warm cozy homes to stay in....as cats love warmth. OTOH, dogs
have a great time playing in the snow.

Hmmm, dogs have a great time playing in the snow? My little mutt Sampson
(RB) didn't think it was fun. Of course west Tennessee doesn't get a lot of
snow. But on this particular occasion I actually had to shovel a path for
him to go out and do his business. Even so, there was still a little snow
and icy patches on the ground of his "path". He was absolutely *not* amused
by the cold white stuff. Guess you have to be a dog that weighs more than
10-12 lbs. to find much fun in it ;)

I remember once watching a neighbor's Pekingese dog making his way through
snow that came up almost to his shoulders. He alternated between plowing
his way through the snow and progressing in a series of hops, rather like
the way squirrels travel. I suspect it didn't take very long before he
was ready to go back home and relax in a warm spot.
I did get a laugh on another occasion, when there had been only a couple
of inches of snow. The result was a mostly-flat extent of snow, but with
a grass stem sticking up every foot or two. The Pekingese dog was rushing
around, doing his best to mark every single grass stem.

That's really calming.
A couple opf years ago, I managed to tape Nikki purring. lori was kind
enough to put up a page with it. It's at
http://www.possibleplaces.com/Nikki_Purr/
One day, I'll put the sound up on Nikki's own page. One day, when I can
be arsed to figure out how to do it. ;) <computer blond>
