She's been barfing all day. Can't hold down any food. A couple of times
she's puked mucous tinged with blood. I have not seen this happen before.
Blood in the stool, yes, but not in the vomit. It's just pink, not red, so
maybe not too serious. But still I am worried. If there's no improvement
tomorrow she is going to TED.

This makes me sad, because she was just starting to get back to her "old
self" now that flea season is over, her skin is clearing up, she's put on
weight and has even been going in and out several times a day.

A more loving cat I have rarely seen. I just hate to see her get seriously
ill.

drat, sorry to hear she's under the weather. Purrs that the trip to
TED proves that it isn't anything serious, and can easily be dealt
with.

The original message never showed up on my monitor.  I'll add our purrs
to the rest.  I hope TED finds out what's wrong and can take care of it.

Healing purrs. Maybe she ate a bad mouse or something?

Regardless of how she seems tomorrow, Baby Eyes needs to be seen by a vet.
I wouldn't wait -- I would call for an appointment today.  If you wait for
symptoms to show up on a regular basis, it could literally be "too late."
Also, what do you mean when you say that you have seen blood in the stool?
Is this something that has been seen by a vet, or something that you have
observed and filed away for future reference?  If the latter, then (combined
with blood-tinged mucous) it is *imperative* that you get to a vet ASAP.

I sent the post at about 1 a.m., I meant "when the sun is up" :)

Not *her* stool.

Now, of course, she has not vomited since I posted last night!

Sounds like her little system is recovering, especially if she eats and holds
it down. You know how severe vomiting can burst little blood vessels in people?
Maybe that's why you saw the pink. Still purring for her.

No I was not aware of that at all. This kitty is 4.5 years old. Gloria
raised her, she was orphaned at a tender age. I don't think the formula she
used was entirely adequate, as the kitty is not real strong and never has
been.

She is now dwarfed by Billy and just a tad smaller than Lily.

Thanks for the information.  I hadn't even thought about the possibility of
a middle-of-the-night post.  (I should have, because I do it all the time.)
Also, thanks for the later update.  I always worry about those little ones
when we get an original message indicating a problem and then no update.

Glad to see further on down that you reassured by TED. Just wanted to
note here that it can be very importent to check, even when it seems a
cat is mending. After all, Sammy was diagnosed with her heart murmur
only because I had already made an appointment. I thought she was
getting better on her own and almost didn't take her in.

Purrs for the little'un to feel better soon. If you can get her to the
vet sooner it mightn't be a bad idea.

I know what it is like to have one that is sick.  If I saw blood, I
think I would be concerned enough to take her to the vet immediately or
at least call and consult the vet.

Purrs that she is feeling better soon and hasn't gotten into anything
too serious.

TED says as long as she is eating and drinking, and not vomiting, not to
worry. She did not vomit during the night or yet today, and has been eating
and drinking normally. So I am laying this to rest for now.

Baby Eyes thanks everyone from the tip of her tail for all the be-well
wishes and purrs!
