It's nice and chilly outside (finally!). I've got a nice fire burning in
the fireplace. For a while there was a nice sunbeam streaming through the
window, across the front of the fireplace, too. Persia made herself quite
at home on a pillow in the sun in front of the fire :)

Sorry about the battery, but it is a lovely picture just as it is. Persia
is such a luxurious cat.

Oh, too bad. Persia is such a beautiful kitty, that would have made a
gorgeous photo.

Back in 1980 my all white T.C. would lay in front of my kerosene heater for
_hours_. I could not imagine how she could stand it. I was, even, afraid
to touch her for fear of pressing her (very) hot fur against her skin! She
loved it, though.
Oh yeah, I was hotter back then too. sigh

After my father retired, he had a wood-burning stove that provided about
half the heat for his house. His cat would lie down in front of the
stove, only a few inches away. Sometimes, when the smell of scorched fur
became too strong, he would reach down and roll the cat over to her other
side, a process he called "turning the cat". At that range from the
stove, the radiated heat was unpleasantly intense on human skin.
Apparently the cat's fur insulated her enough that she just felt
pleasantly warm.

Years ago we used to heat the living room with a 2 bar electric fire
and Fugazi (RB) used to lie right next to it.
Of course eventually you'd start to smell burning fur and go "Gaz-Gaz
wake up!"and she would open an eye, look at you then roll over to do
the other side
