Cat in rush hour traffic (TW)

I was driving on one of the busiest stretches of freeway in my city, in
a 3 lane construction zone. Traffic was quite slow, about 15 MPH.

Gave me plenty of time to see the lifeless body a small, all black cat,
with a collar, lying next to the road.

Beautiful looking, with glossy black fur :-(

Because it was a construction zone, there were no shoulders to pull off
onto.

There was no way for me to stop and pick up the poor kitty.

When I went back later, the black cat was gone.

I do hope some other cat lover picked up the poor kitty, and tried to
find it's humans. Or at least gave it a respectable burial.

I home it wasn't the Dept. of Transportation, with just a garbage bag.

Poor little black kitty. I can see some children waiting for it to come
home....sniff.

I have to go hug Kenzie, and give her some scritches, and piece of the
turkey ham I bought for my big 'Thanksgiving dinner' (A sandwich...,
just like last night, sigh).

I have seen this scene so many times during the many years I drove to
work.  I finally said a prayer each time I got in the car that all small
creatures would be safe that day.  MLB

It always breaks my heart when I see a furball killed on the road

Same here.  Doesn't matter the species, I my heart still aches (yes, even
for a skunk - once I've quit holding my breath) for a life cut short.

My heart hurts every time I see a scene like that.  I always think
immediately of Holly and Duffy, and I am so glad to know that they are safe
in the house.

What does (TW) mean?  I noticed it in your subject heading.

Thanks!  I figured it was some sort of warning about an "unpleasant"
finding, but I didn't figure out "tissue" or "tear."

I am not sure, but suspect "tear warning".    MLB

Close, it means "tissue warning" as in "you will need a box of tissues
because this story will make you cry"

I'm so sorry, TC. So glad I never see that here. Purrs for the poor kitty.
