It's still pretty light, but central Iowa is now getting snowfall. Should
be interesting to see how the kitties like it when I get home. I know that
Harri really dislikes snow, but the others haven't experienced it yet.

Agreed - especially on the videos. I want to see them taking a step
and then shaking off the foot. :)

Should be fun to see their reactions! In west TN it's unseasonably warm. I
have the windows open. It's supposed to cool down tonight and only get up
to 50F tomorrow, but that's still very mild considering it's American
Thanksgiving.

I live in central Tennessee. It now feels more like winter. The high
today was about 40F, and we had sleet for half an hour or so this
afternoon. The lack of direct sunlight (it was overcast all day) and the
20-mile-per-hour or so wind made it seem even colder than the actual
temperature.

We (Ottawa, Canada) got about 4 inches overnight instead of the rain
predicted. The scenery this morning was gorgeous - beautiful, white and
clean. However, Sonny did not appreciate it, at all. He sniffed it, waited
until I cleared a path around the house, watched while we shovelled the
laneway, then came right back in. He's sleeping beside me and has given up
on the day. Normally he's in and out all day until 4 o'clock. He hates the
cold and snow just as much as last year.

I'm so jealous! It's darn hot here (86F = 30C) in Central Texas. We're
supposed to get a cold front in this evening, I'm looking forward to a
holiday weekend with a roaring fireplace! :)

The high tomorrow is supposed to be in the 50's, that definitely counts
as cold for me. :)
The coldest I've ever been was 17F (-8C) here in Austin a few years ago.

17F is to cold any where. 50's sound like perfect fire place weather. Your
cats must love the fire.

Just got back from the Black Friday sales. It was a beautiful day got some
good deals. Last year at this time I needed a jacket and long pants. I
heard some people say it was cold it was 72 this morning I looked at the and
laughed told them they could be up north right now doing this with 2 foot
of snow on the ground

I remember going to Florida at Christmas time as a kid and wearing shorts
and going in the ocean. The locals always had on at least a light coat.

I was waiting for that comment. I'm really amazed at how folks in
northern burope deal with the winter. And I'm sure you guys wonder how
some of us survive the summers of over 40C. :)

This is true. I can hardly stand temps of over 25 C.

My family made a trip to Europe in the summer of 1974. I remember walking
on the beach in Ostend, Belgium. The temperature was about 50F (10C), and
there was a stiff breeze blowing in off the Channel, so that the
wind-chill temperature was not that much above freezing. Each of the
members of my family was wearing two sweaters each, as we hadn't brought
along coats for a summer trip, and we still felt cold. The locals,
however, were lying on the beach in swim-suits, and going into and out of
the water, apparently not minding the temperature. I noticed, however,
that no one stayed in the water for very long.

You may have to resort to what President Johnson used to do in the White
House. Build the fire and turn on the air conditioning.
