It's the Jilly Pillow Mountain!

I have multiple pillows on my bed.  There are two covered in shams that
match the bedspread and two that get tucked under the bedspread.  At least,
that's the way it's supposed to go.  I don't bother to make the bed all that
often these days. I have a softer feather pillow I actually put my head on.
I like to be able to scrunch it up any way I like.  The others are just for
show.  What was I thinking?!!

Persia has known about this all along, but the last two nights she has
discovered the pillow mountain.  Oh yeah!  She can climb up on the pillows
behind my head and sleep there, all cozy.  Just as if she's in her closet
hidey-hole, except I'm right there with her. (smile)  And it gives her an
entirely new vantage point from which to TAP me when she wants to wake me
up. (laughing)

For the last two mornings I've felt a paw on the top of my head.  It's like
a film script:

[Scene: 5:30AM, just getting light outside.  Jill is sleeping.  Persia is on
top of the pillows behind her head]

Persia:  Tap
Jill:  Mrrrmph.  I'm sleepin'.  Sleepy-bye, Persia.
(60 second pause)
Persia:  Tap... tap
Jill:  Momma sleepy-bye, Persia.  Shhhhh!
(5 minute pause)
Persia: [places paw on top of  Jill's head]
Jill: [hmmm, there's a paw on my head... doze]
Persia: [leans down, taps again and purrs loudly in my ear]
Jill:  Mrrrrph, shhhh! Momma's sleepin'
(5 minute pause)
Persia: [presses paw more firmly down on my head and revs up the purrs]

I finally realize there's a cat above my head.  I reach up to pat her and
she starts rubbing her head all over my hand.

Persia:  Oooh, you're awake!
Jill:  No, Persia, it's 6AM and I didn't get to sleep until 4AM; I am not
awake.  Momma sleepy-bye.  Shhhhh!
Persia:  Yes you are! You patted me!  You're awake! You're awake!  [Louder
purrs, some head butts and a gentle nip on my hand]
Jill: [sighs] Okay, okay, just a minute.
[Jill clears the sleep out of her eyes, uses the toilet with a cat winding
around her legs and then looks and screams when she sees her image in the
bathroom mirror]

So I get out of bed and stumble to the pantry to get food for Persia.  I go
back to bed because I'm still desperately tired.  Not 2 hours later, Persia
is once
again on the Jilly Pillow Mountain, and we go through the script again.  I
feel like I'm in rehearsals for a broadway play!

When I read this story I was unwillingly reminded of that video:

LOL!  Love that cartoon!  In all fairness to Persia, she doesn't vocalize
until I'm actually awake.  And she's never yet hit me over the head with a
baseball bat :)  But she's been tapping me (on the nose, usually) for a
couple of years now.  Oh, and sometimes when I stir she (gently) nips my
chin.  It's an indearing quality.  She really does think I'm her momma!

lol!  Persia is a very persistent one, that's for sure!

It *does* sound like a script.  Maybe you should write one, and make a
video.  Post it on You Tube, and maybe Persia will become a star :-)
