The best way to protect yourself from the cold is to bunch up as much as
you can:

http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o185/frankiennikki/Jul-Dec07/IMG_0576.jpg

Caliban on the pole:

http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o185/frankiennikki/Jul-Dec07/IMG_0571.jpg

Mir on the pole:

This is a bit fuzzy, but if you look closely, you can see that he is
shaking his paw:

http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o185/frankiennikki/Jul-Dec07/IMG_0575.jpg

Inside and warm again, Caliban poses in the place of the ornamental
clock he once knocked down:

http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o185/frankiennikki/Jul-Dec07/IMG_0567.jpg

And a rare moment with Mir sleeping on my arm (she used to do this all
the time when she was a kitten):

Aww, it's only a little tiny bit of white stuff. :P

He's a poet and doesn't know it-- he's a Longfellow! :P

Yes, I see it.  I can't help but love that ""ewwwwww!" reaction. ;)

With high beams on, I see.  What an scary ornament he is. :P

Yes, but as always with the icky white stuff, it came much too soon. :P

I felt immensely honoured, and she awarded me by sleeping on my arm
again right now (it's hard to write with a cat occupying one arm, and
the princess is eyeing the keyboard with distaste for interfering with
her nap).

Hiya Marina

Lovely pics. It's freezing overnight (just) here in Cornwall too as we get
Northeasterlies from over your way but no chance of the white powder.
Claudius has never seen any, tho' Snowball's an old hand. Recalling Snowy
becoming half-invisible on a snowfield I was thinking that when you get a
few inches Cal's feet will become invisible - will he appear to be floating
as he prowls?

LOL. It's hard to imagine Caliban looking like he is floating - he is
such a grounded cat, if you get my drift (no pun intended).

The earth loves Caliban, and wants to keep him close to her. :)

One of my funny memories from teenage years is watching our calico cat,
Patches, walking through about three inches of snow.  As each foot would
come off the ground, she would shake it.  I could imagine her thinking,
"Ick! Wet! Ick! Wet!".

I *love* that. It's so hilarious. And I figure, if the cat hates it
that much, she could always go back inside. But if she's not, then
evidently, it's worth the unpleasantness of the icky white stuff for
her to stay outside. So I can't feel too sorry for the cat - just
entertained.

I remember Mir doing that when she was little! I would like some white
stuff one of these days. Not a lot just some "pretty".

I finally had a chance to look at these pictures - LOL! Love the "pole
dancing" pictures. Maybe they could bring in some extra cash for your
household by working in a strip joint? :)

Caliban is certainly looking sleek these days! The very first photo
shows his new profile very clearly.

But I love the one of him on top of the - what's it called, anyway? -
sitting where the clock used to be. It looks like he's daring you to
say that any ornament other than his beautiful self should be there. :)

I would pay to see that. :)

His new nickname is 'Slim.'

I don't know what it's called. I call it an ornamental cabinet, but
that's probably not right. I used to have a lot of brick-a-brack on it.
Frank and Nikki never touched them. But when Miranda came... she had a
more scientific bent, and just had to test gravity all the time. ;)

Love the pictures.  Has anyone tried blowing soap bubbles out in the
freezing cold yet this year?  Mandy says that she can't wait to try
it, even though I pointed out that we rarely get cold enough here to
put more than a dusting of snow on the ground.
