I was sitting in bed under the covers before I put on hand lotion and turn
off the light. I hear a loud purring in the hallway. " Where is mommy's
kitty, come see mommy" I said. Samwise is standing in the doorway. Then he
leaps onto the bed and lays down near me. He never gets on the bed at night
with either of us. I didn't want to move and scare him. I did pet him and
talk to him. He stayed about 5 minutes.I hope he will do it again.

Aww, how sweet. You heard him purring all the way from the hallway?
That's a loud purr. I used to hear Nikki purring in the next room.

I hope so, too!

Persia seems to adjust her purr volume depending on where she is and what
she's doing. Sometimes it's really loud, other times just a soft rumble :)

Be careful what you hope for! Since I moved, BOTH of mine
have taken to sleeping on top of me (or forming a
strait-jacket for my legs by parking on either side of them,
on top of the blankets). NOT the most comfortable
arrangement for their human, I assure you!

Ginger (RB) always slept next to me. She would stretch out along my side and
I would put my arm around her. It was so wonderful falling asleep to a cat
purring. It took me a long time to get use to her not being there.

Having a bed snuggle cat is a wonderful thing.
I usually go to bed before Nancy does. Sammy always comes up on my chest
for petting and smurgling, then curls up in Nancy's place. When Nancy
comes to bed he moves down between us and usually lies down lengthwise
along my leg. It makes it a bit difficult to move around at night, but
it's still very comforting.

More steps! He is really coming along.

He has been in the house with us 3 years now. Sometimes I forget he was
living outside for the first 4 months of his life. He is a mommy's boy.
