Trill is going to the vet

and any purrs are appreciated.

He has several soft lumps on his back near his spine.  It's very similar
to what Merlyn has had, off and on, for awhile.  The vet didn't think it
was anything serious with Merlyn, but had no idea what it is.  Merlyn's
are back, too, so I will probably take them both in for comparison, and
maybe we can finally solve this mystery.  My M-i-l helped us out with a
little money lately, and I was able to pay the vet $200 of the $400 I
owe.  So it's time to run the bill up again ;-)  I sure hope this is
nothing serious, but lumps and bumps are things that always scare me.

Wish us luck!

Purrs on the way from Hobbes, Lacey, Sam and Barnabus and gentle
headbutts to you from Hobbes, Lacey and Sam.  Barnabus is sending
enthusiastic headbutts because that's all he knows how to do. Good
luck wishes from me as well.

Good luck!  I hope it's nothing serious, too.  Dogs sometimes get
cysts that are just lumps and aren't harmful ... maybe this could be
the same?

Many purrs on the way. Hope it's nothing serious, but lumps always sound
worrisome.

purrs on the way that it turns out to be nothing serious - and that

Thanks so much for all your purrs and good wishes.

It is frustrating.  The lumps are too small to do a needle biopsy.
Merlyn's are even smaller, so no luck there, either.  There are several
possibilities ranging from bruising, abscesses, and the like to
sarcomas, the scary one.  All I can do right now is keep an eye on them,
and if they get larger, get Trill (and Merlyn, too, if hers grow) back
to the vet.  The vet seemed optimistic that they probably are not cancerous.

Merlyn howled the entire way (she's such a chatty little girl in the
first place!); Trill added a chorus or two, but he was most well behaved
at the vet.  I think he was showing off his shiny, perfect coat (since
we got all the mats out of him).
