I'm getting my living room painted on Tuesday, so I've been slowly
emptying the room out, moving furniture and stuff into my other rooms.
I did it bit by bit so I wouldn't hurt myself by lugging too much
stuff on the same day. At this point, the living room is nearly empty,
to the point where the room has different acoustics.

The cats seem a bit confused by this. What happened to all the cool
hiding places? Where are all the toys? Where are the places to lie on
and sleep?

At the same time, the other room where most of it is being stored is
FULL OF ALL KINDS OF STUFF that doesn't belong there!! This room doesn't
*look* right anymore! But hey, now there are *lots* of hiding places in
here... Cool...

Wheeee!  Makes sure your babies don't get into the paint.  When I had
painters in, Stinky was so nosy, he got a paw and the tip of his tail into
the paint.  It never occured to me he would do it, I thought he wouldn't
like the smell and stay away.  But not my sweet old StinkMan.  He's got to
be into everything. :P

When you put everything back, watch how they will go around and sniff
everything like "Whoa, let's make sure it's all the same stuff." ;)

Oh, definitely. The plan is to keep Roxy and Licky in my bedroom with
the door closed. They'll have food, water, litterbox and scratching
posts in there, and I will occasionally go in to visit them. (I'll be
working at home that day - "that day" being tomorrow.)

Licky won't need much coaxing on this - I seriously doubt he'd come
out of hiding to explore, even if I left the door open, but I might as
well keep him where he can't get into trouble. It's Roxy I have to
worry about. She's curious and *will* get into stuff. I don't want her
in the painter's way, either.

Hey, glad to see you back! I was starting to wonder where you are.
Hope you didn't have computer problems.

Cats seem to have a love/hate relationship to change - on the one hand,
they hate that things change, but on the other, it's always intriguing
to a degree. :) Hope you all come through the paint job alright.
