Robbie is boarding at the TED tonight. :o( He has been off-colour for a while and so this evening I took him to see his TED Michael. It turns out that Robbie has a major dental infection along with an abcess and needs to have all his remaining teeth removed. :o( It's going to be a big op, but hopefully once completed he won't have any more problems. The house is very quiet without him. We made the decsion to board him so that he was spared an extra TED journey and associated stress and so that TED could starve him without me having to starve the rest of the Miles clan. Please could he have some major purrs that my Ginger ninja comes through this safely and has many years with us yet? They pulled 9 teeth at once the last time she went in for a dental. She literally thrived afterwards until cardiomyopathy got her but I think that had a lot to do with steroids she took. Anyway, she had 9 teeth pulled and came home with pain meds. A week later I found a little pile of pain meds that she had spit out in a corner after I turned my back. She never seemed to hurt and refused the soft food she was offered in preference to the crunchy food. We shall purr that Robbie has the recovery and quality of life that Selena did when all those nasty, painful teeth were finally removed. Our Chloe had all but her itty-bitty front teeth removed earlier this year. She bounced straight back and has been FAR happier ever since - her fur (very long and fine) is in much better shape since it doesn't hurt her to groom it.
