The city shelter has published its Yule cards, and I'm wondering how
many I should order. Could someone please let me know how many names
there are on the list this year?

Sorry to jump in, but could anyone tell me how to get on the list?
I tried four times to send an email to Bridget but they all came back.
I don`t expect many cards, but maybe some gentle soul takes the effort
to send one to faraway Germany.
I would love to get a christmas card from overseas.

I'm in Finland, and I usually get droves of cards from overseas, so I'm
sure they'd send to you, too, Bettina. :) In fact, Inge from Germany has
also participated in the past.

Julie is the one organizing it this year, I only pinged Bridget because
she has kindly promised to print the addresses on labels for me, since I
don't have a printer and my hand is too weak to try and write 50-60
addresses by hand (unless I have my operation by then, and then it will
be even more impossible to write).

With all those nurses threatening to resign I can't see much hope for your
operation to be soon. :-(

Yeah, I know. So you've heard of their plight in the UK? They're asking
for much, but it's about time they were paid reasonable wages for their
hard and dedicated work. I'm ashamed for our government that promised
them their raise in the spring, at election time, and have gone back on
their word now. The previous government wasn't any better.

So our nurses are mass-emigrating to Sweden, Norway and the UK, where
they get paid reasonable wages.

Marina - I could print the labels for you if you like, if Bridget haven't
done already?
just so they don't have to travel so far ...
But I don't think I have managed to get on the list - I would need that of
course. I would like to, but last year I didn't manage to send even one
card - rpca or otherwise .. and I usually send a lot.
I'll see if I can catch Julie and check the situation ..

Thea & Bono send you purrs for your broken paw - Thea send gentle headbutts
too, avoiding hand of course ..

I could also print the labels for Marina, so now she has a choice of
three printers, and mine's the closest. :)

:) You can fight among yourselves. I just hope *someone* sends me the
labels, so I can participate.

I'm coming in to this thread a bit late... school has interfered with my
private life once again. I had a project due yesterday. Yay. not. If
someone closer wants to print the labels so you get them faster, I am
okay with that. You will get it faster and they will be able to do
updates if they wanted because postage is not so expensive. I can't
afford to do that.

Someone volunteer for sure. So we know for sure who is going to do
labels for Marina. I still don't mind doing them. But if someone closer
wants to volunteer that makes a lot of sense.

Bridget - getting excited

Makes sense. Since Christine is in the same country, I'm appointing her
to send them. Christine, please acknowledge that you've seen this
message. :)

They just started selling the cheaper Xmas stamps, so you might even
save some postage. But no hurry with the labels, you can wait until the
final version of Da List arrives. I was just wondering how many cards to
order.

Around Xmas, we get cheaper domestic postage. Not the overseas fares,
though.

Roger that, 10-4, read you loud and clear...  :D
Wasn't online much last night, but now I've seen it and will await the
final version of the list for the labels. We can email privately for
various arrangements, special requests or whatever. If nothing else
agreed, the labels will be plain white (already have such) with name and
address as seen on list.

I wish you best healing for your hand. It is so hard to manage only
with one hand.
I just sent an email with my address to Julie. Looking forward. :-)

For anyone wondering, Bettina and I have now managed to connect via
email and I have added her to the list.  The final version will be out

Julie, I didn't mean to rush you. It's just that my shelter puböished
their cards and there's a new one that I think is really cool and I want
to order it quickly. :) Can you tell I'm excited about the card exchange? ;)

Tried it several times, all came back.

OK everyone, I just sent out the first version of the list.  If you
are expecting it and don't get it I might have your email address
wrong.  Bettina, try sending it to jcook03 atemorydotedu. Make the
necessary changes as you see fit. Everyone else, please use my
GaDragonfly address.  There are two or three people that I had
expected to hear from but have not yet, I'll get in touch with you
individually. I need an email address for Piglet's Meowmy. You know
who you are :)

Thanks Julie,

email just sent. Yay - I am looking forward to overseas and other
holiday cards.
I love surprises. I love to go to the letterbox - always good for a
surprise.
Imagine how happy I was when I entered the internet in 1994 (via
Compusereve)
and detected that now I had yet another letter box.
(Yes, there`s a little girtl speaking)
And I'll send as many holiday cards as I can afford.

There's usually about 60-70 people on the RPCA card list. But if youcan't
afford to send them all at Christimas time, its perfectly OK to send them
throughout the year as your finances allow you to.

Personally, I'd *love* to get a Valentine's day card, or an Easter card or a
Halloween card, or whatever other seasonal cards there are out there. I'd
love those cards just as much as the annual deluge of
Christmas/Yule/Hannaka/Kwanzaa cards. If I can get some Litha cards....

Just letting folks know in advance mine will be late. As usual. :-)

Thanks Yowie, got the message.<g>
I love to send Postcards as well and now have an opportunity
to do so the whole year over.
Actually I am a "nice postcard" buyer.
If I am in the city I just have to buy some nice ones if I see ones.
So there`s a bulk of them here in a drawer.

Okay, I didn't get your email with the first names. You my be using an
old email address for me. Try using tektor at insightbb  dot com and to
be sure I get it, you might also send it to bbaker71 at ivytech dot edu

Julie, can you send it to me again?  My computer and I have been
having an ongoing arguement, which included deleting a bunch of unread
emails.  I bet da list was among them, as I haven't seen it yet.
