Firefighters and EMTs!  They are the best!  Look at these guys crowd around
this little cat trying to save its life!

Cool! I've read descriptions of how to give cats mouth-to-mouth, but
it's good to have seen how to do it. But I don't think he was rubbing
the cat's belly, like the reporter said, but rather giving it heart massage?

Yep, that would make more sense!  When you give a human CPR you alternate
the breathing with chest compressions.  Obviously he couldn't press heavily
down on a kitty chest.

And it looked like rubbing because it done so fast - it had to be, a cat's
heart beats much faster than ours.  It's heartwarming to know that
firefighters and EMTs are learning how to resuscitate pets as well as
humans - people are *FINALLY* starting to realize that pets are family
members too!

I'm glad, too!  I don't even want to *think* about what would have happened
to that sweet kitty if the man had been one of those "cats aren't people"
type of guys.
