My coworker Bill and his wife, Shell, are owned by two tuxedo cats and
a young brown tabby, Marley.  Marley likes to "surf" in the bedroom
curtains. He will repeat the maneuver several times per surfing
session!

It's Marley, the Stealth-Cat!!
Shell explains: I have to act like I don't see her when I walk by so
she can pounce on me.
The curtains (and I) are victims of "The Dreaded Curtain Attacker"!

I thought you meant that Marley was like *my* Marley (a "Snowshoe"
Siamese), who does what I  call, "Stooging".   Does anyone remember
from the Three Stooges (I never actually watched any, my parents
wouldn't let me, but I do remember the bit)?  Moe, I think it was, is
upset probably with Curley, and as he's turning, he says, "Slowly, I
turn, inch by inch, step by step..."?

It's all I remember really, Marley, Stooges, he walks in hyperslow
motion, not stalking per se, as he doesn't really pause, just really
slowly shifts his weight (all 14 pounds of him) paw to paw (and you
don't want to be the rib cage he moves onto), until he's right under
your chin, then collapses so he can have skritches.

He won't look at you, no eye contact whatsoever.  He will pause when
you say, I can see you Stoogin', then he doesn't move for 5 to 10
seconds, then keeps going to the chin.  He even has the concentration
frown that cats get.  I just love him when he does that, it's too
cute.

Niagara Falls!!!!

That's an old vaudeville bit, that turned up in the Stooges, I Love Lucy and
Abbott and Costello.  The scenario is usually  in some kind of enclosed
space with someone (usually this is given an elaborate explanation) who
becomes murderous at the words "Niagara Falls."  "Slooooooowly I turned!"
It always cracks me up. ;)

I'd forgotten about the "code word".  Marley doesn't need one with us
though.  He just needs you to look the other way momentarily.  I wish
we could catch it on video (but he knows when the 'vid' is on, the ham
(he likes to give the "up the nostril" shots on video), I'd post it.
He really does think he's getting away with something.

There was also the A&C variant centered around Susquehanna Hats.  Similar
outcome for poor Lou.

A very popular vaudeville act and yes the Stooges did a version of it.
You're old enough to watch this now LOL

You can see Lucy's and Abbott and Costello's versions on YouTube, too.

I've tried to watch the Stooges, I really have.  I just don't think
they are funny (but the Marx Brothers, Abbott and Costello, heck Monty
Python).  I hate that they are always picking on the one guy (Curley,
isn't it?).

I'm stupid, I admit it here, but it makes me cry when people pick on
someone (like poor Vince D'Onofrio in Full Metal Jacket).

Maybe he's getting his Halloween costume ready? He's either going to
be a ghost or a sheik. :)

If I didn't know it was a cat, I wouldn't be sure *what* it was. :)

Ditto what you said, Joyce!  If I walked in and saw that and didn't know it
was a cat I'd be running out of the house (probably screaming)!  LOL  Sort
of reminds me of the daughter in the film 'The Others' with Nicole Kidman
where the girl is wearing her communion veil and looking very creepy.
