Oh God, i hope she is not getting sick too...just a listlessness and a very
pricky attitude. She won't come on to our chests to let us pet her, an d when
we bring her to the bed, she moves to a cushion behind the bed. Nor has she a
great iterest in food, though she munched down some hairball treatment and
licked a spot on the cushion here i had tried to place some food a bit ago.
Last night Louie kept on moving her, and our turning in bed kept displacing
and disturbing her. I just wonder if she doesn't have issues over Odessa's
passing, that are making her surly and resistant to the two-legs. She's had a
few squabbles with Roxie and Brandy since that day.
I hope I m just being a nervous and paranoid mama, again, and this is just a
passing mood. It's just not like her. Please spare a fe for Sabrina, methinks
she's in need.
Blessed be,
Baha

Thank you, sir... you're a good one! I'm really hoping this is just a little
something which needs rest and time. The vet kept sayng there was no danger
to the others, of catching Odessa's illness, in part because Odessa had
congenital issues. Just that everyone has been on edge since she left us.
Sabrina, in fact, is showing she is pissed by the very act: we caught her
twice trying to express herself on some of my stuf. Not Louie's. Sabrina
knows where the box is. I think she blames me.

baha I have learned that cats are just like us. When one of the clan
disappears it affects and effects them also. The hierarch has changed it
will be awhile before every one adjust that includes you and your other
half.
This month I have shed more tears for my friends here on the internet than I
have in a life time. The purrs and prayers I gladly send with out an ounce
of hesitation.

Feel better purrs for Sabrina, and for you and your nerves. This may
just be her way of mourning a lost friend and companion.

I wish there were kitty therapists like the one I go to. Odessa had a special
quality, that of a laissez-faire attitude; she was the one who got on well
with everyone, and buffered the squabbles that occasionally arose. this past
week there have been more than our fair share of disputes that have had to be
broken up, and Sabrina has been one miffed girl. I'm very certain that her
pee issues have to do with me: Louie's clothing and other stuff remains
untouched, but I had one old catalog whizzed on, one empty handbag, and a
shoe. I think she blames me for Odessa's being gone. Sabrina has gone through
hell before we got her, so I can kind of see this bizarre cat-logic. She
found stability with us after being with that SOB Richard, now something has
upset the balance and her buddy has left us. I have never had to deal with a
grieving cat before; Fritzie was an "only child" when he went into his
"retirement." Any pointers from more experienced multi-cat people?
Thanks and blessings,
Baha

I'm afraid I don't have much useful advice. Miranda went around wailing
loudly after Frank left us. No pee issues. I got some Feliway, but I'm
not sure it helped her any. Some months later, she stopped looking for
Frank.

Purrs on the way for Sabrina. Miranda definitely missed Frank for a few
weeks after he was gone. I suspect Frank's rapid deterioration during
the autumn after Nikki passed was partly due to grieving for his old
friend. I hope Sabrina can get over her grief soon.

Purrs for you and Sabrina- she may just be upset about Odessa I know Isis was
when we lost Fugazi, she went off her food and walked around in a daze just
calling like a momcat would for a lost kitten

How well and accurately described! Exactly so. the good news is Sabrina did
eat some today--the expensive stuff and not the supermarket dreck, picky girl!
And she climbed on our chests a bit like normal, but still feeling moody.
Thanks to you and everyione.

Watch her to see if her "moods" rise and fall with the barometer. MLB

Do you mean in a literal, weather-channel sense? My Fritzie used to get
pricky around the change of seasons, and in the past week the Buffalo area
has been very crazy with temperature extremes. Louie came to being me a lunch
which I wasn't allowed to eat because every collector in this doghouse needs
me to authorise payments when I'm on break, and he told me that Sabrina had
eaten, had gotten out of the bedroom and was on The Matron's Cushion in the
living room (like Stoshu's Archie Chair in that Sabrina will not allow anyone
else to use it.) So she is returning to something of a normal behavior. I'll
still watch her like a hawk, though; as someone else said, another ill cat I
don't need, and I sure as h-e-double-toothpicks am not talking about expense;
my babies still are bewildered from Odessa's passing.

YES! Weather changes affect me and I am certain the changes
affect animals too. Right now the barometer is as high as I have ever
seen it. When it falls, TuTu tends to find a quiet place and sleep -- she
can also act scared. Good wishes.

Reaction to changed circumstances can be quite extreme, here's purring that
it's only that.
Another sick baby you can certainly do without just now

It may be mourning. Cats don't have all of our ways of expressing
themselves but their ways are quite effective.
Purrs on the way.
