I've been away for a while, mostly because I'm technically inept and
couldn't figure out how to get on Usenet with my new IP. I've given up
now and I'm coming in through Google :p Yes, I'm a loser.

I see that we've lost Shmogg, which is bad news to come back to. Purrs
to Yowie and family, he'll never be forgotten. I guess I'll catch up
with things as I go along, but you guys have always been in my
thoughts, even when I wasn't reading the group.

There's not much news from my end, still happily married, still got
Ripley and McCavity, still volunteering for Cats Protection, and I'm
currently fostering a little black kitten named Annie who I collected
last Sunday night when she was seriously ill with cat flu. After four
days of intensive nursing and force feeding, and daily trips to the
vets for 'magic injections', she's decided to live, and has decided
that her new hobby is eating. I even caught her grooming herself
earlier today, so I think I can say that she's out of the woods now.

Anyway HI! to all who remember me. :D

Good to see you again, how's the weather your side of the Penines? Maybe
your ISP doesn't carry newsgroups, several have stopped, you could try the
free server that Polonca uses nntp.aioe.org I use it as a backup or if I
connect through a different ISP.

Ta for the hint. Preston's weather is dull, overcast and drizzly
today, but at least it's not cold.

((((((Jeanette)))))))))
So glad to see you back! Google isn't that bad if it's your only
option. (Adrian, I
know you're going to argue with that-I swear we'll get a "real
newsreader"
someday!)
Anyway, Jeanette, I've missed your posts. I still think about Fenda
sometimes.

Hi back atcha!!  It's nice to hear from you again.  I'm glad everything's
going well for you.

Sadly, quite a few rpca kitties have gone to the Rainbow Bridge lately.
Bandit went on June 4 of this year.  I don't remember how long you've been
away, so don't know how far back to go, but Marina lost Nicky and then Frank
(but two more masters have come into her life, Miranda (Mir) and Caliban).
Baha has just lost Odessa (Dolly), Gordon lost Pericles about a year ago.
And I'm sure I've forgetting some very important passing, but you get the
drift.  It hasn't been a very good couple of years for our fluffy loves.

On an up note, the Samazon is still making my life interesting even though
she's calmed down a *LOT* not that she's 3.5 years old (my gosh where does
the time go!) - and we've added two orange stripey boys to the clowder,
Archer (who just recently broke his leg) and his bro-fur Ozzy.

Anyway, glad to have you back Jeanette, I hope you have lots of stories
about your masters to share.

Hugs,

CatNipped

Thanks for all your messages, and Catnipped, thank you for the update,
sad though it is to read about all those we've lost. Sherry, thanks
for your comment about Fenda, I was telling my foster kitten about her
today, along with some stories about Shmogg (they got her purring ...)
It's nearly four years now since Fenda was put to sleep, impossible as
that is to believe. Cav is six now, (he was nearly three when we
adopted him, soon after Izzi was put to sleep). He and Ripley still
squabble now and again, but they're usually to be found in the same
room, and if Ripley is sleepy and relaxed enough, he'll sit still
whilst Cav headbutts him and licks at his ears. He never returns the
favour, but I think he's beginning to realise that Cav quite likes
him.

I was just thinking of you the other day and wondering where you were!
No kidding! Good to see you.

Welcome back, Jeanette! Thank you so much for taking such good care of
little Annie.
I use nntp.aioe.org instead of Google, it is free and very reliable.
Best wishes,
Polonca and Soncek
