I ask because Stinky seems to be in the same boat.  His coat was always very
plush and shiny, and now he suddenly has some dandruff.  He's eating and
eliminating  normally, so I don't know what could be causing it.  He's not a
young cat, as you all know, and older cats often look a little ragged, but
he never has.  He's acting completely normal, though, which includes
marching around yelling in the mornings and evenings, telling Dante to f***
off a couple of times a day, and sitting on me as much as possible.
