I love the photo of the tuxedo cat lying in the woman's arms. He (or
she) looks adorable.
Did you see that movie "Russian Ark"? It took place completely within
the Hermitage, and was a historical fantasy based on where in the museum
the camera happened to be. The film seems to be best known for the fact
that it was shot entirely in one take. No editing. Other than that,
though, I had no idea what the movie was supposed to be about. That
probably would have made me feel stupid, but I went with 3 Russians
(from Leningrad, no less) and they had no idea what it was about, either. :)
I don't remember seeing a single cat in that movie. But this was about
4 or 5 years ago, so maybe there were a few.
Different subject: why does the museum poison rats when they have 50
cats living there? Is poison more efficient? Unfortunately, there are
those pesky side effects, ie, things getting poisoned. Not very safe
for the cats! I really don't understand this.

I haven't seen it yet.
I have a friend who works part of the time in St Petersburg. She
raved about that film. But not in such a way as to tell me what
it was about. (She works in opera. Opera is not meant to make
sense. The last Russian opera I saw involved a mentally retarded
psychopath doing fly-wire stunts while waving his six-foot penis).

They're works of art themselves. ;)
