Well, it is going to cost a bundle but we (and the finance company)
are the bemused but proud owners of an 02 Burgundy Dodge Grand
Caravan. She doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it has most
of them. I've been told that it is one of the easier vans to equip
for a handicapped rider, which was a factor in our decision.
We have agreed that She is a very feminine van so now we have to come
up with a name for her. Most of you know us. We cannot stand to
leave our autos un-named. So I'm asking for ideas.
We also could use purrs and good thoughts for a little calico cat that
Rob's CNA and her boyfriend are trying to catch and we are going to
foster until she has been vetted and has gained enough weight to go to
a no kill shelter. I'm heart broken. We have enough cats that we
don't feel as though we could give her the TLC that we're working to
give our current owners. However, I love calicos. I want one. I'm
trying to be practical here, and it is hard.
We could also use purrs and healthy thoughts and wishes for daughter
Amanda. Monday, Mandy's right eye looked like someone had socked
her. It looks better now, but we (and apparently the doctor) think
she has a blocked tear duct. It hurts her first thing in the morning
but improves as the day goes on. She won't sleep sitting up as I
suggested and is a little strange about following the doctor's
instructions about using hot compresses on it.
Am sending out purrs and good thoughts for those who want or need
them, though I'm not posting such.
Love to all,
Pam S.

How about "Vanessa" for the van? Did you see an ENT doctor (ear, nose &
throat) for the eye? Could be a sinus infection/
Best wishes for all. MLB

What about Miranda?
Oh, and tell her to use a small towel or washcloth. Not get it too wet and
fold it and heat it in the microwave for her eye. Works better than hot
water and wringing it out.
Standing in the shower a little longer and letting warm water run over your
face helps too.
And be extra careful not to get hair product or makeup into her eyes

Pam. My hsuband was a paraplegic for 30 years. We went through an
accessibility deal and got a van with a lowered floor and ramp so he could
get in and drive. Guess you know there are grants out there and you may
contact Dodge and see if they have anything available that would make things
easier. Not meaning to butt in but was amazed at the things avainlable when
someone told us.

Hum, never thought of that. Will have to see if Dodge can help us.
The VA sure won't. Thankx.
Pam S. looking up Dodge motors now.

From someone who was never a cat person and now has three, when did the
words "trying to be practical" and "cat" ever belong in the same sentence?"

My van is seven years old now and decided to act up the other day. When my
grand daughter saw you askiong for names she said "grandma tell her she may
as well call it "damn-van" or van'damn" cause she will probably do that in a
few years anyway. By then it will be showing its stubbern male side!

Awfully obvious, but how about Van Gogh? Didn't see anyone else suggest it.

Not getting into practical, but I know you'll do what's right for everyone.

Purrs for Amanda's eye, even though I don't have any recommendations.

I'm glad that I apparently wasn't the only person who thought this was
some strange breed of cat when reading the subject. :)

I hear ya. I'm not posting much either these days, although my busy
schedule certainly doesn't compare to yours. :( I do want you to know that
my thoughts and our purrs are always with you.
