Tyche Visits the Neighbour

As we all know, Tyche is not a good kitten but here is a new twist.

Our new apartment's front door tends to go ajar, then shut. WHen it is
ajar, a paw can be used to open it.  Tyche likes to get out and run up
and down the hallway.

The other night we heard a Kittie Sound.  We looked at the door and
saw it ajar.  We assumed Tyche was running up and down the hall
shrieking (she seems to enjoy this).

Dylan opened the door JUST in time to see a tabby tail disappearing
THROUGH the doorway of the apartment a little ways up the hall.

Our neighbour had heard the shrieking and opened her door to see what
was going on out there--and Tyche had invited herself right in!

The neighbour closed her door and looked down, wondering why there was
a strange cat in her apartment.

Dylan called for me and we promptly knocked on the door, introduced
ourselves and asked for our bad bittie back.

The sign on the woman's door said "A house is not a home without a
cat."  True enough, but usually the cat is YOUR cat, not a striped and
spotted freak kitten from down the hall.

She asked us in to pick up Tyche, who was merrily sniffing her front
hall.  Her own cat had taken refuge under the chesterfield from all
this.  We thanked her, told her this was Tyche, and took Tyche home.

I can only imagine if we hadn't seen Tyche going into that door!

Whew - that would have been very worrisome! (Although your neighbor
probably would have put her back out into the hallway, and she would
have found her way back to your apartment - eventually.)

Pets are great for helping neighbors meet each other. This usually
happens with dogs, so it's nice to see cat-lover neighbors getting to
know each other, too.

All heck might have broken out!  But now you know one of your
neighbors is a kitty person, and isn't it lucky that's where Tyche
wandered?  Probably following the strange kitty smell.  I'll bet hers
would have done the same...if it dared!

Agh, she might have moved in with your neighbour and you'd never have
known. So glad you caught a glimpse of that tail!
