The new chair

I bought a new chair for my office. It's a nice one, with all the
features for "intensive use". On the side of the box, it said
"assembly required". I did not expect to have to assemble everyting...

Well, I opened the box, and Dulce Mae immediately climbed in while I
unpacked the seta, the back, the base and all the other hardware.
Little Boy and Bucky decided to check out the parts, while Little Feet
investigated the bag of bolts and washers, taking time to bat the bag
around in case any were stuck together.

Dulce Mae decided that the chair back was hers, and stretched out on
it, while I attached everything to the seat. Little Feet stretched out
on my socket set, keeping all my tools warm for me.

I finally managed to fully assemble the chair, as each and every cat
walked back and forth between me and the various parts. I stood up,
and tried out my new chair.

Dulce Mae immediately leped into my lap, claws out, and left a fresh
claw mark on my thigh. It was obvious she wanted to test the
claw-sharpening attributes of this new chair. I picked her up, set her
down, and moved the chair into the spare room until I could put it in
my car the next day.

Little Boy was upset. He told me, while hugging and cuddling, that it
just wasn't fair that Dulce Mae should get her own chair, and that he
didn't get one. He insisted that if I really, really loved him, I
would go out RIGHT THAT MOMENT and get him a chair of his own.

Um, sorry, but at $200, I'm only getting the one chair.

The chair is comfortable, at the office, but it's missing that one
critical component - a cat in my lap...

Hugs and Purrs,
Mark

Didn't someone on this newsgroup buy a second office chair (for their
house) because The Cat liked the first one so much? Who was that? Tak?
(No, I don't mean it was you, Tak, who bought the extra chair. I'm asking
you, as our walking database, if you remember who that was. :))

Hey, there were dog CEOs at dot-com companies, back in the day... why not
a cat??

I believe that was Will. :)

My cats hate me because I have a 'saddle chair' at my desk. Not comfy
for a cat!

Oh, right... it's coming back to me slowly. Was this for Missy, the
human-hating cat?

Tigger used to sleep in my chair in my home office.  Then we got Tank which
neccesitated the "no unacompanied kitties in the office" rule.  Tigger is
very careful and never knocks things down, while Tank is a 10 lb wrecking
ball.  So Tigger changed to sleeping in her bed.  Then back problems forced
me to get a new office chair.  DH wanted the old chair for his garage so I
put in temporarily in the kitchen for him to put in the garage.  Tigger
immediately claimed it again so that's why there is an office chair sitting
in my kitchen....

I'm so glad the kitties helped you assemble the chair.
Best wishes,
