I just looked out of the window and saw a black cat in the garden, I said
"hello Shadow" then realised straight away it wasn't him and Baggy was
asleep beside me. This cat looks young, probably not much more than a year
old, very nervous so maybe another feral. I couldn't see whether it was male
or female but it was certainly very beautiful.

Have you given it a name yet, Adrian? <very evil grin>

He/she may already have a name, it wouldn't surprise me to find it has a
home, it looked very healthy.

Though I'm happy that I never see stray or feral cats around here, it
would be nice to meet new cats every now and then. I hope you can
befriend him/her.

One morning, earlier in the summer when I was still biking to work (now
I drive), I met a tortie kitty sitting under the edge of the car port. I
crouched down and called out to her "who's the pretty kitty..." etc. She
came right up to me and headbutted my hand. We chatted for a moment, she
mrrp'd and meowed to what I said and I scritched her. She was wearing a
collar so she was someone's pet for sure. Then I said I had to get to
work and told her to go home for breakfast, and she trotted off. I think
I've seen her both before and after, from a distance, but haven't
chatted with her anymore.
