Not really roughhousing, since you need two hands for that, and I was
holding the camera with one. It looks like she really nails me a few
times, but she is so gentle, I never get a scratch from these sessions.

Lovely :)

Bandit's the same, he loves a good energetic grapple but never draws blood
and rarely even mark my skin. Bless them, how do they know?

They just know that hoomins are so weak and lacking in every way, they
have to be careful with us.

Yeah, she really doesn't have a real "agressive" mode, does she. She
did finally kind of hang on for a bit. You need to tell her, generally
rough housing doesn't include paddy paws and upside downey head :D

She is so lovely.  Look at that plushy fur. ;)

You know, they say you are not supposed to let the cats play with your
bare hand as a toy because it gives them the wrong messages, but one of
the things I really enjoy is a good wrestling match with one of my cats.
We both keep it under control and they never see my hands as targets
otherwise - ankles are a different story. This is one where I disagree
with the "experts". (And at this point, I consider myself an expert, so
there!)

Having lived with cats since I was born and having read the works of a
lot of 'experts,' I consider myself an expert, too. :) Some cats are
gentle, others are not. With the ones that are gentle, there's no reason
why you can't play with them with your hand. But I know better than to
try this with Caliban. ;)

My brother used to put on a woolly sock and then let our cats beat the
snot out of his foot.

Barnabus, when he finally quit drooling all over the screen of my
laptop, turned around and asked, "Why is Auntie Marina tickling
Miranda?"  She's not tickling her she's roughhousing with her.
Barnabus fell over backwards laughing. He told me to get the video
camera out so I can show you what roughhousing really means. He hopes
you aren't squimish around blood.  Of course yesterday I only bled
because Barnabus had his claws under my skin and DH decided to rescue
me by sternly saying "BARNABUS" which scared Barnabus and he levitated
off the couch taking my skin with him. <sigh> I've thanked DH but
asked him to let me handle getting myself out of situations that I've
placed myself in in the first place.

Miranda is as beautiful and regal as usual.

Well, I *said* I wasn't doing it properly since I could only use one
hand. ;) But Mir never draws blood, at least not when we're playing.
It's a different matter when she uses me as a step-ladder.
