I brought  two Hibiscis (?) trees inside for the winter.  OOHHHHH I hate
saying that word!  Anyway, does anyone have any idea of how, short of
building a chicken wire cage, I can keep the cats from tearing up the treea?

I used to have a hibiscus, that I kept away from Laku (Nico wasn't
around then yet). Laku did have a go at it, while I was at work, in
spite of me having told him to keep his paws and teeth off it. He tasted
the leaves (I found teeth-marks), but apparently it wasn't very tasty as
he didn't do a lot of damage to the plant.

No, and I doubt the chicken wire will work either.  The cats should get
tired of them.

I have to admit that empathy for houseplants has never been one of my
strong points. However, I feel bad for Willow. I'm trying to envision
something where the plant would still get light and air and be
protected from Willow and her friends. But I'm not coming up with
anything.

My grandaughter may have the best answer.  The netting like you put over
strawberries with some dowl stick.  Will give that a try.  I have two
windows where they can get light but, it is also where the cats lay.  One of
these plants is four years old but, I feal this may be its last year!

Buy a 20" clear plastic pipe, and put the plant inside, the pipe
should be high enough, that the cats cant jump in.
And if one succeeds, he wont do it a second time.(I think...)

Yes, I knew better than to ask you.  About wine I ask, about plants no.  BTW
that Moscoto I got from Aldi's was aweful.  Not full bodied enough to be a
good wine, not sweet enough for a desert wine.  Hate to say this as it could
ruin my "don't waste andything image but"  I don't even recomend it as a
drain cleaner!
