Hey folks,  I've got about 85% of the photes from my Burning Man trip
uploaded.

Don't think many of you really know what I look like, and i think the
only photo i posted was of me in my vet tech scrubs holding a tiny
kitten.

So if you've wanted to see what my first Burning Man trip was like, or
if you've just wanted to see the author of the Vet Tch Journals, go to
www.flickr.com/photos/krysfamulan

You can browse page by page, but the BEST way, if to go to my Sets,
and there you will find 7 days worth of picstures each sepearted into
a day by day adventure.

Never really told anyone on this group, but fire performance is a new
thing with me.  I have a background in dance, martial arts and playing
cymbals in marching band, so the idea of dancing with stealth and
danger and large arm visuals kinda came naturally to me.  I love to
perform and it's been a very long time since i've found an activity
that really brings me joy.

And if you get tired to looking at the burning man phots, there are
albums of my troublesome furkids on there too.

Oh, and I do have videos of me doing fire dancing, would people here
be interested in those too?

take care,

Kristi

oh and btw while i was tired and lying alone in my tent, i would
occasionally look at the photos of my furkids that I had stored on my
digital camera.  I had stored them there to help remind me of home.  I
would be exhausted and I'd bring up a picture of Mischief all sprawled
out on my desk.  Awwww!

I envy you.  Oh to be young again.  That was the kind of thing I would
have gravitated to when I was in my 20s and in the know.

Well there were people of all ages at Burning Man.

In fact my mom has hinted my grandfather may want to go next year,
which scares the beejeezus out of me.

My grandfathr is 87.  Sheesh!

I'm sixty two and totally fascinated by it.  Only it has probably become a
much larger event than I would enjoy now.

It sounds wonderful in many ways, but I'm not sure I could tolerate the
climate. I'm pretty sensitive to heat and get uncomfortable when it
goes over 75 degrees (24C). I hear it gets well into the triple digits
out there in Black Rock City - yikes!! But, looking at the official
Burning Man website, I was quite impressed with the installations, many
of them were really beautiful!

Looking forward to checking out your photos. And YES, I would like to
see your fire-dancing video.

I book marked the site. I'll look at the rest when I have more time. I does
look like you had a wonderful time.

What a great adventure it sounds like it was... I looked at all your
photos and admired your energy. Of course we'd love to see the video!

Burning Man is something that sounds like an absolutely incredible
experience... I really admire that freewheeling creativity and
self-expression. I would have loved to have it myself, but I was old
and boring when I was still young!

hehe ok, go to www.youtube.com/kchong978

And when I get a chance i'll try to upload some kitty videos too.

I can't really take any new ones, all the dust kinda screwed up my
camera.  There's a big glob of dust under my lens.  So I need to find
a place to get it professionally cleaned.

enjoy the videos

Fit?  Oh no, I get my exercise from running around the vet clinic and
wrestling with dogs all day.  One night a week I meet with my fellow
burners for open practice.

I'm not entirely in shape, but when the music takes me it doesn't
matter.  As my mom reminds me I'm about 20-30 lbs overweight, but damn
it, I DO look good!  And I can STILL do the splits!!!  SO THERE MOM!

(btw, I hadn't done splits in years, so I had been stretching the
whole month of August so I could be able to do them during Burning
Man)

:)

You've got to be in some kind of shape just to do that Kristi!
Impressive. It looks like you had a great time... :)

YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!  I was never anywere near that agile even when I was
young and had muscles.  Not only are your moves impressive, but you
look totally happy.  Mischief, Imp, and Mayhem must be proud of their
meowmie.

Pam S. really impressed
Mischief - 18 Sep 2007 03:31 GMT
well, I'm not as young as I used to be.  I'm normally very self
critical of my appearance (thanks to my mother) and my performance,
but I was blown away by how good some of the videos turned out.

Heh on another video, one of lesser quality cause the shutter wasn't
open all the way, it was 2 am, and the adrenaline was flowing and I
was laying down ncie moves and in the back of my head I'm thinking.
"Oh this is gonna hurt tomorrow"

:P

Glad you enjoyed them.
